The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery is the hotel I stayed for one night during this latest Hong Kong trip. I chose to stay at this hotel for a couple of reasons I will explain below.
It was a most pleasurable stay (except for my wallet as the hotel is right at the Citygate Outlet mall… where LV, Puma, Nike, Adidas, Versace etc are all in the same mall).
Table of Contents
The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery
The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery is nestled in the heart of Tung Chung, just a short 5-minute drive from Hong Kong International Airport and Asia World Expo and the hotel is part of the lively “Citygate” complex.
If it sound far, it is not really that far as it is only 30 minutes MTR Ride from Tung Chung to Central, and if you’re looking to explore Shenzhen, Macau, or Zhuhai, you’ll find these exciting destinations within a convenient 30 to 50-minute drive. There are buses to take you to these places too nearby. Also remember that it is also near to the amazing Ngong Ping 360 and the Big Buddha at Lantau Island ! Don’t miss out out on the excellent Wisdom Path at Lantau Island too.
Step inside and you’ll discover the inviting lobby, alluring dining options, a well-equipped gym, and some of our charming rooms, each offering picturesque views of cascading garden terraces, serene trees, lush green lawns, and a spacious outdoor pool that boasts a stunning vantage point over the bustling Tung Chung town center.
The Check In Counter has a most nostalgic deco that reminds you of the old times Hong Kong hotels !
I got a free welcome drink too (plus an upgrade to a sea view room)…. not bad 🙂
Bright and cheerful views on your way to the room from the lobby. Definitely not those boring hotels.
You can see Novotel too
Citygate Outlet at Tung Chung
The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery is located at the Citygate Outlet at Tung Chung. There are actually two hotels at this massive shopping paradise. One is Novotel Citygate and the other is the newer Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery.
Now Citygate Mall itself is an outstanding leading outlet mall. It features more than 150 world-renowned premium brands. Check out the list of shops. Shoppers can enjoy discounts of up to 90% at Citygate Outlets. Some of the shopping brands include Jimmy Choo, lululemon, Sam Edelman, FireBird, QUE by Rin Horiuchi, and more. And yes, every girl’s favourite LV too. Sporty outlets such as Nike, Adidas, PUMA etc are all here too.
There are 40 international dining hotspots at the mall.
And a cinema.
There is a entrance to the easy entrance to Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery from Citygate from the 3rd floor of the Mall.
For food, I actually like going to Fu Tung Plaza more (just opposite Citygate) as there is a 翠華餐廳 there. I have a special love for 翠華餐廳 🙂 翠華餐廳 serves great coffee/tea and even better Hong Kong local comfort food.
Why I stayed at The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery
There was a couple of reasons I stayed at The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery hotel at Tung Chung.
Firstly I never stayed at a hotel outside of Kowloon or Hong Island before. For this trip, the first two nights were at the Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui (again) and other hotels I stayed in Hong Kong are usually at Kowloon (such as Tsim Sha Tsui The Langham or even at Mongkok such as Hilton Garden Inn or Cordis Hotel or North Point Hyatt Centric or Hong Kong island itself such as Metropark Wan Chai or Empire Hotel Causeway Bay or Island Pacific Hotel at Sheung Wan area. I wanted to try the Hyatt Regency at Shatin (one day) but for this trip, I thought I would stay at this nice hotel at Tung Chung area.
The second reason is I am taking the 9am morning flight (SQ899) at 9am. So I thought I would make it easier to get to the airport by 7am to check in. Indeed the The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery Lobby provides FREE shuttle bus services FROM and TO the airport !
The final reason is that as an Accor Plus member, I got a free night stay every year (you can get Accor Plus FREE with DBS Vantage Credit Card or American Express Highfly Card). I was pleasantly surprised when I found that I could easily get a free night stay at this hotel as it is part of the Accor group too. So it was nice to have a free stay ! 🙂
Free Shuttle Bus to the Airport
The hotel operates a free shuttle bus from the Hong Kong airport and to the Hong Kong airport. You might like to refer to this link for more information. The bus departs from the hotel and the Hong Kong International Airport every 30 minutes. The service is operated from 6am to 11:30pm daily, and is provided on a complimentary basis exclusively for the hotel guests.
For myself, as I was catching the 9am flight, I took the 7am bus shuttle. If I miss this bus, it will be 7:30am bus next. So plan your timing accordingly. I did not miss the bus and it arrived and left the hotel punctually at 7am. I arrived at the airport departure terminal right at 7:10am. Swee Swee.
You take the shuttle bus from B1 of the hotel building to the airport.
The Room at The Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery
One word. Pretty. Second word. Muji.
It looks so wooden and so calming when I first stepped into the room.
The card key is wooden too 🙂
The lift to the rooms… there are not many floors…
The way to the room looks a little tight but actually is very nice. You can already tell the “wooden” design of the rooms.
SUPERIOR ROOM – Sea View
We got a nice room with a view of the “sea”… sea view.. or so they said :). The whole room is full of “wooden” concept. Just like Muji. Very nice. Very tasteful and I like it a lot.
It is the SUPERIOR ROOM – Sea View. It was a free upgrade for my Accor Plus Silver status.
My “Sea View”. Not bad lah.
There is also a sofa (but not a sofa bed) next to the bed.
I LOVE THE BEDSIDE CONTROLS…. the buttons are so cooooool.
The entrance controls too..
Superior Room Amenities
The TV console and TV programmes including my most important TVB channels 🙂
There is a nice light at the end of the TV console. There are plenty of USB ports and power plugs around.
Expresso Coffee Machine is a must. Or maybe not in the land where they served the best coffee and milk tea in the world.
Superior Room Shower and Toilet
The shower and toilet is separate. The toilet has an automated bidet just like you are in Japan. Muji, remember. The one of the left is the shower room (with a rain shower too) and the one on the right is the toilet.
The Toilet Bidet can be controlled by a remote… you know.. open the lid, close the lid… wash my backside…
The washing basin is outside the toilet instead.
The toiletries are from my favourite The Malin+Goetz Peppermint Shampoo !! I know in Singapore, Changi Capri by Fraser has it too.
The fridge is meh…. standard hotel fridge
Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery Gym
I did not get to see the swimming pool but I did checked out the gym..
Conclusion : To stay or not to stay at Silveri Hong Kong-MGallery
I love the hotel and its proximity to the Citygate Outlet malls where I can shop like mad. Literally the whole day. And then easily bring my shopping stuff back to the hotel room.
And the hotel room is nice. With a clean Muji like design and very comfortable. And I love the shower and the toilet (and the toiletries).
And then there is a shuttle bus TO the airport which is super great.
I highly recommend staying at least two nights at this hotel for shopping, food and then an easy trip back to the airport.
I’m thinking to stay at the Silveri in a couple of months. The free shuttle from and to the airport, and the separate toilet with bidet, are definitely pros. Thanks for a very comprehensive and helpful review.
Happy you found it useful.
I am here this weekend for a HK trip and have chosen to stay here again. This time for closeness to airport due to a late flight and closeness to Ngong Peng
Enjoying my stay.
