How would a Day Stay at Changi Capri by Fraser be like ? I mean would you really travel all the way to this location for a day stay ?

Booking a day stay at Changi Capri by Fraser Hotel
To book a day stay at Capri by Fraser, Changi City, you would use the phone app, Dayuse, or you can use the web site, Dayuse.sg. This app has become quite popular, post Covid, as a single source of hotels that are open for day use booking.
Day use refer to booking a hotel for couple of hours (no, it is not 2 hours.. not Hotel 81 please) e.g. 8 hours so that you can use it for a rest, to do some work (e.g when the home is too noisy) or for a quiet time with your loved ones. Don’t think of anything else.
I have used this app for hotels such as a day stay at Park Avenue Rochester, Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, ParkRoyal Collection at Pickering etc. In most cases, your hotel loyalty programme privileges do not apply but sometimes it does (I have good experiences with the magnificent GHA Discovery hotels). YMMV.
You can see that you can get a day stay room for as cheap as SGD130 (before taxes) from 9am to 5pm. Do you really need 8am to 8pm ? 12 hours is pretty long and not so common on the app for a day stay hotel actually in my experience.
Enough time for…. some hard work… on your office excel spreadsheet or word document. Again. Don’t think otherwise.
The stay is cancellable (without a fee) so it is pretty good. In Changi area, I also like to book at Yotel Jewel and will do a review for that.
Parking at Day Stay at Capri by Fraser
Now to go to this hotel, it is pretty easy by MRT. The MRT station is Expo MRT station which is a Mass Rapid Transit interchange station on the East West line and Downtown line. It is just a five minutes walk from the station to the hotel. Easy easy.
But, of course, you can also drive to the hotel. Parking is at the Changi City mall itself. It is amazing to park at this hotel for two reasons. It is actually the key attractiveness of this hotel for a day stay to me (besides the price).
Reason one is PARKING IS FREE. You can get a coupon from the reception when you check out, that you can then “remove your cash card from IU” and slot the free coupon to get out of the car park free. This is pretty good as it cuts down the cost of your day stay and also, for a hotel sitting in the shopping complex, it is not very common to get a free parking coupon. Examples of hotels who do NOT provide free parking because they claimed to be just tenants at a shopping mall included day stay at Fairmount Hotel or day stay at Yotel in Changi Airport Jewel. You have to pay separately for your parking at these places. And they are not cheap.
So to have free parking at Capri by Fraser at Changi City Point is so so good.
Reason two is that there is a dedicated reserved parking area for hotel guests at the car park in Changi City. You can park your expensive BMW or Porsche at this dedicated lots, far away from mere mortals like us.
And……. Right next to the dedicated parking area are the hotel lifts that take you right up to the rooms (obviously you need a hotel room key to use the lifts). Beat that.
Now, deep knowledgable experts at day stay hotels will know what I mean. You know, you can go straight from car park right up to the room. Bypass the reception. Enough said. I am very innocent.

Hotel within a shopping mall
Capri by Fraser at Changi City obviously sits inside a mall, known as Changi City Point. The number of stores are quite a lot and of a good diverse variety, although it does seemed to have many “factory price” shops.
There are also many food places too (to cater to the Business Parks here at Changi, and no, I am not going to be political and call it the Chennai Business Park… anyway, not I say one ok…. ownself say ownself policies…..).
But seriously, to be able to just go down to the mall and have a nice local lunch and then buy some great ginger tea at Old Tea Hut to bring back to the day stay room for the rest of the stay is very nice. Very shiok.
Or to be buying some cheap Crocs sandals, and watch other humans go back to their offices while you go back to your day stay room is pretty satisfying at lunch time 🙂
The same can be said for day stay hotels that sit in a shopping mall such as Yotel at Jewel Changi Airport or ParkRoyal at Kitchener Road (opposite City Square Mall) or ParkRoyal Collection at Marina Bay.
So here’s one more plus point for day stay at Capri by Fraser at Changi City 🙂
Swimming Pool and Gym at Capri by Fraser
I am pretty impressed by the size of the gym and the pretty cute pool at Capri by Fraser, Changi City.
The pool is a little small though..
I am also very impressed by the changing room and the sauna inside. It does make it pretty attractive to come here with your family for a proper staycation (not a day stay only with your……).
Highlight : Free Bicycle Borrowing
OMG. You can already see the bicycles at the entrance to the hotel and I am sure you will be tempted to ask in typical Singaporeans’ style, “Free one ? can borrow or not ? Must pay ?”…..
Yes it is free to borrow the bicycles. There is an app to use to borrow them. The hotel staff will help you with that.
Which you might love to know also come with free to borrow helmets too. Safety. Safety on the roads. Safety in the rooms.
Happening lah.. besides the day stay room, you now can also swim and go to the gym and now you can even cycle around the Mumbai Business Park too ! What I was told is that many borrowed the bicycles to cycle from this location all the way to East Coast Park. Wow.
I never find the way to do it….
Cause I ended up with tyre problems and have to slowly walk back to the hotel all the way…. si bei sway…

Spin and Play Rooms
On your way to your room, you will see a room called “Spin and Play”.
Spin = Laundry i.e washing machines. Irrelevant to day stay people unless you got perfume smell or hot red lip stick marks to get rid of…..
Don’t know what I am saying also…
Play = Don’t know > DVD machine ? VCD ? Blu-ray ?
Day Stay Room at Capri by Fraser, Changi City

Now I have an unhappy peeve…..
I booked Day Stay Rooms at Capri by Fraser, Changi City two times and both times, despite what is said on the booking app, I never got a Double Bed. I always get the rooms with two single beds. I believe the room for day stay is the Studio Superior room.
It made it so hard to work on two single beds instead of a double bed. I am serious.. real work. Like writing blog posts like this in the day stay room.
Double bed. More space. Single bed. No space. Cannot cuddle work properly during day stay.
Damn angry ..
The TV is not very big leh.. but I like the fact there is a soccer channel and also Chinese movie channel and HBO… and CNN and Fox to see Trump talking nonsense again etc.
You know, tv tv tv is very important in day stay.. you go day stay do what one ?
I go there, do work and watch TV… without my kids disturbing me. Peaceful own time…..
The view of my room, both times, face the sad Credit Suisse….. sigh.. lucky I never buy the bonds…
The rooms come with a kitchenette, which reminds me of my suite at Holiday Inn Shin Osaka.
So you can buy food from the supermarket and the food court at Changi City and come back to the room and use the kitchen ware…. like these ones…..
Coffee making machine but I did not even use it one time. I mean there are so many coffee places downstairs leh.. now I miss the “Old Tea Hut” again….
No water bottles one okay.. nowadays hotels like to do filtered piped water…

I AM IN LOVE WITH THE SHAMPOO…. The Malin+Goetz Peppermint Shampoo is sooooooooo nice smelling…. legit good. World class good.
Conclusion of Day Stay at Capri by Fraser Changi City
Not withstanding the fact that on both of my visits, I got the lousy two single beds (instead of a double bed for me to roll around and enjoy my time… IT IS MY DAY STAY.. MY FREE TIME), I still do like to have day stays at Capri by Fraser Changi City.
The cost of a day stay from 9am to 5pm at SGD130 is very worthwhile to me (especially nowadays, post covid, most day stays are so expensive… oh I miss the prices at Covid time).
The (free) parking is very great especially at a reserved area (the parking lots at this area is also quite big). As I drive to and from day stays back to my home, this is pretty important to me.
The proximity to food and drinks and restaurants is very nice as it makes lunch time a pleasure. I do not really care about the bicycles (one time will do) and I am not a gym person too. But it is nice that these are there.
I can see that the potential of this Capri by Fraser Changi City becoming one of my main “resident day stay” hotels. The last time I had a “resident day stay hotel” would be the Marriott Vagabond Club hotel during the Covid period. That remains my all time favourite day stay hotel 🙂

Give me a Double Bed on my next visit please..
