UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 Access Point Unboxing
I intend to upgrade my home Wi-Fi setup by replacing my two FlexHD units with the UniFi U7 Pro Wall. This new device features tri-band Wi-Fi 7 functionality with 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz radios, along with a 2.5 GbE uplink. As a result, I anticipate achieving actual speeds ranging from 600 to 800 Mbps on my new Wi-Fi 7 devices, a performance that content creators on YouTube have boasted about, igniting my curiosity and excitement. ๐

The supplied template for the back plate… there is a cute leveller at the top ๐

The actual backplate for you to use in your wall.. I am not using it :p

Screws and all…….

Hello… UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 Access Point !!

There is a RJ45 plug. The package does not come with a PoE Injector (but I have a few from my previous FlexHD purchases or my Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M Access Point which I am no longer using).

Pretty new Wifi 7 Access Point ๐

UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 3D Printed Stand
Oh by the way, I ordered a 3d Printed stand from Etsy for the Pro Wall as I want to make it as a stand but the stands in Shopees are sold out (see this example and is very expensive too)….. will share pics here in this blog when it arrive.
UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 : Do you really need a stand
[Update on 11th Jun 2025]
I just realized the Wifi 7 point can stand quite well on its own. Does not seemed to need a 3D Printed Stand. But I guess it is still good for safety point of view. I was also thinking the backplate that came with the package (in the above photos) seemed to do the job too ๐

[Update on 25th June 2025] : UniFi U7 Pro Wall with a 3D Printed Stand
So my 3D printed stands (yes I bought 2… don’t ask me why) arrived. It was pretty underwhelming. I guess I never thought of how a 3D printed stand would look like. One word, it looked flimsy.

They don’t even stand straight ๐

Nevertheless, I used the provided (by Ubiquiti) mounting kit to fit into whatever holes that align to the 3D stand. Here’s how it looks with the 2 screws (also provided by Ubiquiti).

I then slide the Unifi Wall 7 Pro access point into the 3D stand.

And I am embarrassed to show you the back :)…. Love the screws…

Ok. And then I fit in the network cable (coming from the POE injector)…. And so it goes to the top of my cupboard…

With ugly screws and all ๐

And a final UniFi U7 Pro Wall with a 3D Printed Stand…

One word of caution. DO NOT THROW AWAY THE QUICK RELEASE TOOL. You need it to “release the Pro Wall” from the mounting kit in the future.

UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 Speed Update
Not sure if there is an impressive improvement or what else I can do but any advice will be great. This is iPerf3 test from my iPhone 16 plus to the Synology in my network.

After upgrade from the same iPhone to the same iPerf server running as a docker in Synology.

Unifi USW-Flex-2.5G Flex Mini 5-Port Switch Unboxing
The Ubiquiti Unifi USW-Flex-2.5G-5 Flex Mini 2.5G 5-Port Switch can be powered by PoE or USB-C.
I am planning to use this as the link between the Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra (still waiting for the price of Cloud Gateway Fiber UCG-Fiber to reach Singapore officially) and the above UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 Access Point !).
This little 5โport switch gives me 2.5โฏGbE on every portโperfect for boosting faster-than-gigabit speeds without needing a big, noisy rackmount box. It can be powered either over PoE or via an included USBโC adapter, which saves on cables and keeps my desk clean. Even better, itโs fanless and whisper-quiet. I can tell you I have a soft spot for the white switches from Ubiquiti. My first was the Flex Mini 5 Port Switch which I am still using ๐

As Cute As Ever ๐

And oh it came with a 2 pin plug….

Hello…. 4 ports with a POE in to power it…. Or you can use the USB-C (2 pins though) at the back of the switch… Your Choice…

Small and cute Unifi USW-Flex-2.5G : 5 Flex Mini 5-Port Switch

Hope these two new stuff: UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 Access Point and the Unifi USW-Flex-2.5G Flex Mini 5-Port Switch will provide me with enough upgrades to Wifi speed for the next few years…….
[Update on 11 Jun 2025] Added this to the network at home. It fits so nicely into the study table shelf…

I used this switch to drive
(1) The incoming network to the study room from the Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra
(2) The network to the injector to the UniFi U7 Pro Wall WiFi 7 Access Point
(3) Dell U2723QE Display (for network from Monitor)
(4) an extra network cable on the table for my son to use it for his own laptop
Just nice.. 4 ports ๐
