On my previous few visits to Hong Kong post Covid, I did not manage to visit the Hong Kong SilverKris Lounge. I had to make do with the Plaza Premium Lounge which honestly, I did not enjoy.
But for the latest trip, I was finally able to visit it. Singapore Airlines has finally reopened its SilverKris Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport, following a long break of more than three years.
For context, these photos is taken on 8th Jan 2024, after my short trip to see Jacky Cheung concert in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong SilverKris Lounge : Location
Hong Kong International Airport’s Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge is located at is located at Terminal 1, in the Main Departure Hall Level 6, near Gate 5. It is not that far a walk from the Immigration and a slightly longer walk to the usual gates that Singapore Airlines flight leave. At least it is NOT AS FAR as the AMEX Centurion Lounge at HKIA.
Hong Kong SilverKris Lounge : The Facilities
After showing your boarding pass, when you walk into the lounge, you are greeted by this long walkway. The toilets are to the right of this walkway.
Once inside the SilverKris lounge, you can find separate dining and seating areas. The dining area is right at the front while the (more comfortable) seating areas are at the back.
There is a bar to order drinks from.. I just had to have my favourite Baileys before the flight..
These are the more comfortable sets..
Go to right at the back of the lounge and the seats get even better (to me).
And very nice Working productivity Seats… or Pods.. or whatever..
Looks like a nice place to work before your flight. Charging Port and Power Port.
The Toilets… check out the showers with Rain Shower 🙂
Yes, showers are available too at SQ Hong Kong Lounge
Hong Kong SilverKris Lounge : The Food
Of course, the comfort food before the flight is important. The buffet here at the Hong Kong SilverKris Lounge is pretty good.
Food…
Satay !! YOU SPOT THE SATAY ??
Satay BEFORE THE FLIGHT !
And of course, when in Hong Kong, have dim sum too ! of course you might rather have it at Lin Heung Kui 蓮香居 or Dim Sum at Lian Xiang Lou 莲香楼 (it has re-opened in 2024 !!!) or Maxim’s Palace.
Soya Bean Curd in SQ Lounge in HKIA !! Very seldom find in a SQ Lounge (Does Taipei Lounge has it ?)….
And in Hong Kong, you also have the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea !! But let’s stick to having it in local cafes in Hong Kong lah.. such as Lan Fang Yuan.
And we can have Wan Tan Mee too… is it as good as 麥兆記(祖傳)廣州雲吞麵 🙂
Looks (and taste) good…
Conclusion
To be honest, I always find SilverKris lounges’ food quite boring (standard buffet) in many lounges but I do find the Hong Kong one very nice.. lots of good local food.. I find that they made a good effort to make the spread of food very uniquely local and yet very tastefully done.
