Finally, I have the chance to visit the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3 of Changi Airport.

Singapore Airlines Makeover of Its Changi Airport Lounges
Singapore Airlines has recently unveiled its new SilverKris Lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 3, following over two years of renovations impacted by COVID-19. This was part of the S$50 million makeover of its flagship lounges, a project led by hospitality designers Hirsch Bedner Associates.
And for myself, I was finally able to visit this new lounge on my latest trip to Hong Kong. My family members were able to visit this new lounge as they went to New York, Taiwan etc on business class tickets recently.
My Last Visit to a Krisflyer Lounge
In my last trip post Covid period, I only managed to visit the new Krisflyer Gold Lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 3 which is very bright and nice, actually. As I was travelling to Osaka on an economy class ticket (not a business class ticket), I was only able to access this Gold Lounge. If you are a Krisflyer Elite Gold member, you can access the Krisflyer Gold Lounge whether you are flying on premium economy or economy class.
I actually think Krisflyer Elite Gold is really worth its salt, especially if you fly a lot of economy class to KL or Bangkok etc :), You can even bring one guest into the lounge if the/she is on the same flight with you and even if he/she has NO Elite Gold membership.
I like my Elite Gold membership a lot. Because I don’t have PPS 🙂
How to get access to the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Lounge
The SilverKris Business Class lounge is definitely a significant upgrade over the SilverKris Gold lounge at Singapore Changi International Airport.
It accepts:
- Business Class Tickets holders on SQ flights
- PPS Club members Travelling on Business Class, Premium Economy Class, Economy Class on SQ flights
- Business Class Customers for non SQ flights but Star Alliance flights
- Solitaire PPS Club, PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite Gold or Star Alliance Gold members travelling on Business Class for non SQ but Star Alliance flights
So you can imagine it is actually quite a large group of people who can enter the SilverKris business lounge.
Getting to the SilverKris Lounges at Changi Terminal 3
Upon entering Changi Airport Terminal 3’s transit area, make a left at the giant Louis Vuitton store just after clearing immigration. You should avoid the LV store if you are with your wife, your mistress or your sugar baby, if you have almost reached your credit card limit.
Quickly guide them towards the A1-A21 cluster gate and proceed to the second floor.
You’ll see an escalator on your right with a standee for the SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3; it’s impossible to miss. Take the escalator up and walk towards the lounge. You will pass the Gold Lounge and then the DBS lounge. Yours is the SilverKris Lounge.
Here, you’ll be welcomed by a breathtaking wall adorned with handcrafted glass flowers inspired by the Singapore Airlines Batik Motif, created by the Singapore-based artist B. Jane Cowie. This stunning wall features an array of delicately illuminated flowers and leaves against the iconic SIA blue backdrop. This wall is new 🙂
The lounges is located on the second floor and you’ll arrive at the newly renovated entrance foyer of the SilverKris Lounge. Here, you’ll encounter Batik Flora, SIA’s signature scent created in collaboration with Scent by SIX. This unique fragrance is composed of six flowers that symbolize the Batik Motif. Stepping inside, you’ll find a sanctuary of comfort, warmth, and familiarity, preparing you for your upcoming adventure.
The spacious foyer was thoughtfully designed with one central feature in mind: enabling customers to directly access The Private Room, the First Class SilverKris Lounge (or what we call the first class lounge), and the Business Class SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3 (or business class lounge) from the main entrance.
The Business Class lounge is open 24 hours…. Show your boarding pass and you are IN 🙂
What’s the difference between Singapore Airlines First Class SilverKris and The Private Room
The Private Room stands as Singapore Airlines’ utmost exclusive lounge, exclusively available to Singapore Airlines Suites and Singapore Airlines first class passengers. That means only SQ Suites and First Class Customers can access this lounge. No one else.
Singapore Airlines’ First Class Lounge isn’t actually the lounge intended for Singapore Airlines premium cabin passengers.
Instead it is for
- Star Alliance first class passengers
- Solitaire PPS Club members who are travelling on Business Class, Premium Economy Class, Economy Class.
So it’s less exclusive than The Private Room.
But never mind, both are out of reach for Patnotebook 🙂
SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3 Features
The newly redesigned Business Class SilverKris Lounge now boasts the most expansive space among all SilverKris lounges, accommodating approximately 575 seats. In fact, its floor area surpasses the combined space of The Private Room and the First Class SilverKris Lounge. Recognizing its perennial popularity, the new layout includes various zones tailored to diverse customer preferences and requirements.
These encompass a spacious dining hall, a serene living room, a tranquil rest area, and an open-concept section with ample seating options. Lounge seating is plentiful and comfortable.
In the all-new Business Class bar, innovative overhead lighting mimics latitude lines, adjusting both its brightness and color to match the time of day. The living room’s central attraction is the distinctive wingback chairs adorned with the SIA Batik Motif, elegantly embroidered onto their plush burnt orange leather upholstery.
The lounge proudly showcases artworks by Singaporean talents Hong Zhu An and Lim Tze Peng, in collaboration with the local contemporary art gallery Ode to Art. These pieces create vivid and serene scenes, expanding the visual ambiance. As for the open-concept courtyard area, vibrant seating arrangements under skylights, with views of the runway, promise to delight travelers as they await their upcoming flights.
The new lounge is equipped with its own meeting room, accommodating up to six people, along with a selection of modular sofa seats that offer a comfortable space for both work and dining.
Or take these seats too
Productivity Pods
In the whole lounge, you’ll discover quite a few tastefully appointed productivity pods. These pods are adorned in leather, equipped with reading lights, and designed with a wraparound layout that ensures both auditory and visual isolation from the rest of the lounge.
For the traveller seeking focused productivity, there are dedicated pods, as well as a compact phone booth for private work and calls. These comes with power outlets for powering up the your laptops and charging ports for the your handphones. Each pod has a wireless charging pad, universal power outlet and 2x USB-A ports.
You are in a SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3, a business lounge, right, you powerful titans of the industries. Me just a redemption of miles freak 🙂
SilverKris Lounge Dining Areas
This lounge has two dining areas. Yes, TWO areas.
When you enter the lounge area, and turn right, an open-concept seating area provides a more informal and relaxed setting, perfect for leisure and family travellers seeking light refreshments.
To be honest, I prefer the open concept (and smaller) area as it has more lights, just like the Gold Lounge.. I guess I love lounges that are more open and more airy and brighter….
For those craving a hearty, full meal, the main dining hall awaits on the left, boasting nearly 200 seats and an extensive self-service buffet.
Except this corner of the larger dining area (close to the rest lounge).. where there is a large window of the runway..
Positioned strategically between these areas, the brand-new bar is easily accessible from both sides. In the morning, a skilled barista is on hand, while in the evening, a bartender takes over, ensuring that Business Class customers can savor their favorite brews or cocktails while enjoying a view of the runway.
Have a drink here.. and watch the birds fly…
Resting Areas in Business Class Lounge
Customers with overnight layovers or in need of jetlag recovery can find solace in the lounge’s rest area at the far end of the larger lounge. Here, you’ll discover 14 chaise lounges, each nestled within its own semi-enclosed cubicle.
These rest facilities are a recent addition to SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3, responding to valuable customer feedback. Each cubicle has its own adjustable reading light, plus 2x universal power plugs and 2x USB Type-A charging ports. However, wireless charging is not available here. No reservation is required for the sleeping area; it’s first-come-first-serve.
The main seating area is thoughtfully designed as a living room, offering enhanced comfort and relaxation. If you have a few moments to spare, visit the KrisShop interactive display, a collaborative effort with Sony, allowing customers to peruse the catalog and make online purchases using QR codes.
Showers and Restrooms
In the new design, the Business Class SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3 has effectively doubled the number of available showers.
There are two restrooms in the lounge, a smaller one located near the bar area, and a much larger one in the dining hall area.
There are now 15 unisex ensuite shower rooms, along with wheelchair-accessible restrooms and showers. Families traveling with young children will also find child-friendly facilities in the restrooms, in addition to a dedicated baby care room.
Play Room for The Kids
And for the children who are lucky enough to be taking a business class flight, there is a separate play room for you, the future masters !
Cushions and of course, Cartoons on the TV
Food at SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3
Laksa. Yes lah. Die die also must try.
Photos tell the rest of food I saw during my trip.
Drinks at SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3
Tea and coffee are plentiful at the silverkirs lounge. The lounge offers tea bags from the famous Singaporean brand TWG. There’s also a coffee machine for people who enjoys a different type of caffeine.
If you are the kind who needs alcohol before a flight, there are various drinking options available in the lounge. The first is a bar where a live bartender will mix the drink for you.
At the other end of the lounge, there’s a self-serve area where you can pour your own alcohol. There’s also a machine which dispenses the drink that you want.
Heineken and Tiger beer
Japanese Beer..
Please don’t get drunk and make a fool of yourself 🙂
Other lounges you can use in Singapore Changi Airport
Actually as an AMEX Platinum Card holder (or other credit cards), you will also have access to SATS Premier Lounge or Plaza Premium Lounge through the Priority Pass Lounge. In fact as a AMEX platinum card holder, you can even enjoy the The Centurion® Lounge which is amazing.
The AMEX platinum card is a good addition to your wallet, if you are a frequent airline and hotel traveller.

See my review of the ones in Hong Kong and Seattle.
And other credit card holders and even DBS Treasures have their own lounges. You can visit the lounge of your choice based on your credit cards too. So lounge access is nowadays nothing really special.
I always find SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3 special
But for me, there is always something special about visiting the SilverKris Lounge Terminal 3.
If I can, I always want to go to this lounge in Changi. I mean I am grateful for the Krisflyer Gold lounge but I always have a special feeling for the business lounge.
But since I cannot afford the expensive business class tickets of Singapore Airlines, I can and will always want to visit the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Lounge if I have enough miles for a business class redemption ticket 🙂
