There is a new kid on the block for Day Stay. It is the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road Day Stay.
If you have looked at the Day Stay app recently, you will notice a very affordable (and yet not shabby) hotel available for Day Stay. Holiday Inn Express hotels have been available for day stays for a while but this one is new. This one is at Orchard Road. Right at the heart of Orchard Road. Just behind the famous Apple Store. Close to Somerset MRT.
The other Holiday Inn for Day Stay is at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre.
The cost of a Day Stay at Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road
It is surprisingly affordable. It is just SGD115 (before taxes) from 9am to 4pm (but there is something to take note, if you are driving. Read till the end of this blog post to find out) or from 12pm to 6pm.
That’s SGD115 for seven hours or six hours if you choose the 2nd slot.

The hotel is so cheerful as it is bright and nice with many colours.
Even the entrance is so welcoming.

Coffee and Tea and proper water bottles….. Love that…
Nice Chair to sit and do your work during day stay. That’s what you do during day stay, right ?!
The toilet is simple. The shower is nice.

Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road Day Stay : Watch Out for These Two
But there are two things to know about a day stay at Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road.
Issue 1 : Non Refundable Booking
There are very few hotels in Day Use app that is non refundable. For example, the other ones are Park Avenue Hotels (at Rochester and at Changi) and the Yotel Jewel (and Momentus Hotel Alexandra) And welcome Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road to that too.
By nature, day stays are more spontaneous and hence, having a refundable (last minute cancellation allowed) booking is pretty good (and important ?).
So do take note.
Issue 2 : No free parking
This one is very serious. There is NO free parking (unlike many day stay hotels such as Mercure Bugis, which remains one of my most favourite day stay hotel). And not only that, it is EXTREMELY expensive to park at Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road. The car park is nice but it costs $3.00 per half hour. So if you stay for a day stay for 7 hours, that would cost you….. $42 dollars in parking !!! Adding that to the cost of hotel will bring you close to $200 !!
You can choose to park opposite the hotel at Carpark @ 22 Bideford Road. At $3 per hour, it is half the price (that’s $21 for a day stay of 7 hours) but still, a free parking at the hotel would have been much preferred.
I love the location of the hotel but the non-refundable nature and the crazy parking are a big turn off. Okay… Take the MRT to Day Stay, then…. 🙂
