If you are looking for a good hotel that offers day stay, Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre Day Stay provides a day stay option through some of the day stay apps. Day Stays were very popularly offered during the Covid period as foreign guests were no longer allowed to enter Singapore, resulting in low occupancy. But now that Singapore has opened its doors, the fantastic day stay offers from 5 star hotels are almost all gone (or even if they are, they are ridiculous in price. I can never forget the amazing $117 including GST day stay at Vagabond Marriott which allows me to hit the Marriott Platinum status during a period where I cannot travel).
In this article, I am going to share two points. One good point about a day stay in Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre Day Stay and one bad point if you drive.
Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre
Let’s check out the hotel and the room first.
When you stepped into the lobby (after the car park, which is a whole passage of its own), you will wonder which era you have landed. It seriously looked like 1970s to 1980s. Like the time when my grandparents brought me to travel to some countries. But it is clean and the staff are very nice and professional. I had a good check in experience.
The door card looks pretty neat 🙂
From the seventh floor, looking down to the second floor, it does look pretty chill. And it is a quiet hotel, even during the check in period.
Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre Day Stay Room
Now the day stay offer in the app is just a standard room. Here’s how the room looks. Welcome to the 1970s or 1980s or 1990s… or whatever… 🙂
The view from the room is not too bad. And you can barely hear the expressway noise. That’s a busy CTE expressway.
The toilet is super clean and nicely maintained. I mean it is not exactly Ritz Carlton but the Holiday Inn products does make it look much better.
There is a bath tub !
And oh did I mentioned the pillows.. well labelled. Firm or Soft.. 🙂
Damn. I realised I forgot to check out the swimming pool and gym 🙂
Take note of this if you are driving to Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre
The hotel provides free parking (ask for a complimentary exit card when leaving the hotel). But if you are driving, please take note how tight the car park is. I mean, if you are used to the tight turnings in those CBD old office buildings (whose car parks are built for the 1960s sized cars), then you are fine. For me, it is a scary experience of worrying about scratching the car when navigating down to the car park. And the car park lots looks narrower and shorter to me…. something to take note if you are as bad a driver as me 🙂
One very good point about Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre
Now we come to the best part of a day stay at the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. Here it goes… the lifts at the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre do not require a door key card. You know, you can just walk into the lobby, walk to the lifts and then take it right up to the room you wanted to go to. You do still need the card key to go into the room (of course, duh). But you know it is so convenient when you don’t have to have a card key to go up to your room. A lot of hotels do and you find it troublesome.
Cause. Your. Day. Stay. Guest. Does. Not. Need. A. Card. Key. To. Your. Room.
There, I said it. Only certain people would understand this statement and why it is good 🙂
Else, I would say for the SGD120 for a stay from 10am to 4pm was pretty good value (oh but never as good as Covid period…). It is a IHG hotel but my IHG status probably does not matter during a day stay. Not many hotels care about your day stay status….. except from my experience, the Marriott group…
Nevertheless, if you don’t drive as bad as I do and you love the “non card key” lift (grin), then it is a good day stay option !
