Just realised that I have photos as far back as June 2022 for Yotel Jewel Day Stay. So sharing the Yotel Jewel Day Stay details here. You can read about whether I recommend this day stay in the end of the article.
Yotel Jewel Day Stay : Non Refundable
At first when I started to use Yotel Jewel Day Stay, you are able to book it and just cancel in the last minute. That’s pretty much standard in Dayuse app. Most of the hotels (featured here in my blog) except for certain hotels such as Park Avenue Rochester Hotel are refundable right up to the day or even the hour of the stay.
However, from a certain point of time (can’t remember when) but it has become NON REFUNDABLE. That means once you book the room in the DayUse app, you will be charged for it. That limits the whole flexibility of the day use app.
You can see this in the booking page.
Just something for you to be aware of.
Cost of Day Stay at Yotel Jewel Changi Airport
The other thing is that the booking for Yotel Jewel Changi Airport can be for 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (4 hours) or 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (6 hours) or 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (4 hours) etc and so on and so on.
Basically it is $120 for 4 hours or $30 for an hour.
Also note that this is BEFORE taxes and service charges. So it is MUCH higher than just $120.
You can also add more hours after you check in by calling them up using the phone in the room.
Finally, please take note that PARKING IS NOT FREE. You have to pay for the Jewel parking fee. From Jewel web page, the parking fee is General Parking (B3 to B5) = S$0.65/15 mins block or $2.60 per hour. That means for your four hours, add another $10.40 to the cost of your stay.
Free Breakfast at Yotel Jewel
If you check in, don’t rush to your room yet. You can grab a simple free breakfast at the lounge first too.
The lounge actually offers a great view of the Jewel.
Checking In at Yotel Jewel
The check in desk is right at the entrance of the Yotel Jewel Changi Airport.
After checking in, you are either on the same floor as the check in area or one floor up. For the latter, you have to take the lift up. Pretty cool lift.
Either way, note that it is pretty obvious that you have guests with you as the front desk faced the entrance to the hotel. So you really need to check in your guest as per the rules.
The Rooms at Yotel Changi
The room is pretty cool when you open the door. The famous PURPLE room 🙂
After switching on the lights (if you want to)…
There is a small cupboard to hold your stuff…
There are charges at this cupboard but you do need a long cable to reach the bed. So you are looking at 1.5m to 2m type of charging cable for maximum comfort.
At the head to bed in the small room, is the toilet and shower. You can use the curtain to close the view to the toilet but it is from outside the toilet (the head of the bed) and not inside the toilet. So be aware if you don’t want your partner to suddenly open the curtains and watch you 🙂
Shower gel and shampoo and tooth brushes are all available.
View of the room from the toilet. Yes there is a TV at the foot of the bed. Chromecast is also available and I tried using it a few times to watch Netflix too.
By the side of the bed is a stool. Not sure why you need that. Maybe for the luggages.
The bed is the cool part of the room. There is a switch to bring up and down (aka a hospital bed) which will either bring it all the way up to a comfortable level to watch TV (aka when you first enter the room) or all the way flat to sleep on.
The flat bed… like Singapore Airlines Business Class 🙂
Here’s the problem I frequently encounter (I been in the Yotel Jewel for at least ten times ?) which is the air con is NOT cold enough. Sometimes a call to the receptionist will help (I think they reset something on their end) and sometimes it does not. So I have to ask for a change of the room etc. Pretty annoying to me. I think the idea to keep the air con to 21 degree to 24 degree is the issue.
Yotel Jewel Day Stay : In or Out ?
If you are a tourist and laying over for the day before catching a flight, then yes it is pretty ok.
But if you are a local looking for a day stay, the cost (non refundable + parking charges) can really add up. Unless you are 100% convinced of your plans, then it is probably ok to book in advance.
However, there is something nice about doing a day stay at Jewel (and Changi) and having a meal or shopping AFTER your four hours of stay at the Yotel Jewel.
