I recently did a stay at the St Regis Singapore Caroline Astor Suite. It was a most wonderful experience. The Suite itself is amazing and the service at the St Regis is, as always, exemplary !

Booking a stay at the St Regis Singapore
As part of American Express Platinum Card yearly benefits, I have a voucher for a night stay at various hotels.
In the previous years, I had stayed at the W Sentosa hotel. One year, I chose to upgrade to a Marvelous Suite (check out the Youtube video too). Last year, I stayed at the Sentosa W Hotel Away Room.
You can read about them here.
As part of American Express benefits, I get to choose a hotel to stay for one night stay. So this year, I decided to try a stay at St Regis Hotel. I booked a Grand Deluxe Guest room (a small amount to pay above the voucher).
You can sign up for the American Express Platinum Card here. You will read in this blog the many amazing benefits of the American Express Platinum card. Till today, I am finding immerse value in the card.

As I mentioned, I booked the Grand Deluxe Guest room but to my delight, I was given a free upgrade to the Caroline Astor Suite 1 bedroom suite. This is probably as a result of my Marriott Platinum status. The American Express Platinum card gives you the GOLD status immediately upon approval of your AMEX Platinum Card but with some stays, I was able to upgrade to the Platinum status.
The Caroline Astor Suite 1 bedroom suite was simply amazing !
St Regis Singapore Lobby
Everything about St Regis Singapore spells luxury. They are not shy about that. This is not your typical 4 star or 5 star hotel. Everything is of the upmost quality (and I guess, cost) and of the colour GOLD 🙂
Checking in was a breeze and you don’t stand and wait for your room. You sit and be served by the most professional and courteous front desk staff I have ever met.

The lift lobby to your room

The lift itself.. yes.. the lift.. I know..

And the walk to my suite. The suite was 10-10 (nice number). It was in a corner and you can actually book another Grand Deluxe Room which connected to this Suite. For larger RICH families 🙂

St Regis Singapore Caroline Astor Suite
The Caroline Astor Suite is huge. It comes with a separate living room, a separate bedroom and a large over the top bathroom. With its signature bath tub.
As always, I have made a Youtube Video and I hope you can enjoy it. Please do give a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE 🙂
Caroline Astor Suite Living Room
Walking into the Suite, the living room is on the left while the separate master bedrooms on the right.

The view I have is for Tanglin Road. Of course, you cannot compare the views to things like Ritz Carlton or Fullerton but hey, the view is not that bad too 🙂

The living room also features a regal leather-bound writing desk with easy access to the Internet and WiFi, IP phone, a 42-inch LCD TV, sofa, chairs and table. The IP phone is so important. You can connect to your butler with a touch and the response is VERY VERY FAST 🙂

There is 5 speaker surround system from Bose too. I watched a movie at night 🙂

Just between the Living Room and the Master Bedroom is the Fully Stocked Private Bar. It has TWG tea and Nespresso Coffee and lots of water.

And you can always ask your butler to help make the famous CHOCOLATE drink which my son loves 🙂

Caroline Astor Suite Master Bedroom
Huge. With the signature Signature Pillowtop Bed and Sealy Pillow-Top Mattress and 350 Thread Count Sheets and St. Regis Feather Pillows (yes, I copied these from the web site, because me, cannot tell the difference except that it is damn shiok to sleep in).

Look at the over the top bed light

There is a fully-automatic remote that controls all electronic mechanisms with the touch of a button as well as an other LCD TV in the room.

Caroline Astor Suite Bathroom
Now this one is way way cool. I already enjoyed the huge bathroom at the Andaz Studio Suite but this one takes the cake and winner of all competitions.
The generously sized bathroom (HUGE ?) is connected to the master bedroom through a walk in closet (and the other entrance is through the living room).

It is beautifully accented by the deep, rich colouring and veining of the French Brenche de Benou marble vanity tops with double basins.

As always, the St Regis room features the unique freestanding bathtub as its glamorous centrepiece, AD Notam TV innovatively installed as part of the mirror, and a window view into the bedroom. You can choose to close the view in case you want some privacy too. Else you can seduce your partner sitting in the master bedroom with your legs in the bath tub 🙂 🙂

There is a rain shower in a separate room but I don’t know how to operate it 🙂 Just use it like at home 🙂

St Regis Singapore Swimming Pool
The Swimming Pool requires booking but I was lucky to have two slots for two days. Day 1 was on check in day and the butler was kind enough to put me on waitlist and I was able to get the pool after 15 mins of wait.
Day 2 was completely empty 🙂
Photos !

The jacuzzi at the side of the pool were very powerful 🙂

St Regis Singapore Love Dining Benefits
While I keep mentioning about free hotel stays from the AMEX Platinum Card, another very popular benefit is the AMEX Love Dining benefits. At certain hotels and restaurants, you get up to 50% discount on the meals.
One example is the famous Yan Ting Chinese restaurant at St Regis. Here’s the fun part. Because we have to sit in separate tables (this is the Heightened Alert stage where maximum dine in is 2 person), my family of four are split up to 2 tables. That’s 50% discount for each table as we have 2 AMEX platinum cards.
Here’s the delight of eating at 50% discount 🙂

So the American Express Platinum Card carries with it a huge number of benefits. Free Hotel Stays. Immediate upgrade to ELITE status at Marriott and Hilton etc. And Love Dining benefits of up to 50% discount off the bill.
Do consider signing up 🙂

If you have a Discovery GHA membership, it is a great idea to stay at the Capitol Kempinski Hotel too.
