Back in Nov 2022, I stayed at the Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Stamford Suite. This is the review of the night stay at Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore.
TLDR : It was a beautiful stay in one of the most, if not the most, elegant hotel in Singapore. I had a very enjoyable stay and so did the family (I guess, that’s the most important, right).

Location of the The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore
The 155-room Capitol Kempinski Hotel sits in the restored Capitol Building and Stamford House at downtown Singapore, right opposite the Raffles City Shopping Mall.
The Capitol Kempinski Hotel holds a prestigious front-line key position within an integrated lifestyle complex that includes Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski, Eden Residences Capitol, the renowned Capitol Theatre, and the Capitol Singapore retail mall. It enjoys a prime location near Singapore’s most prominent attractions, including Marina Bay Sands, Chijmes, the National Museum, and Merlion Park.
This is, of course, the revamped Capitol Singapore retail mall. But to many of us, the older 1970s generation, this is the place where we had our first date at that famous Capitol movie theatre :). I remembered watching Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back at the theatre too.
The Capitol Theatre in Singapore holds a rich history as one of the country’s iconic movie theaters. So it is a nostalgic feeling for me to be back at this area and to stay at the hotel.
Today, the revitalized Capitol Theatre continues to host a variety of events, including film screenings, theatrical performances, concerts, and other cultural shows, contributing to Singapore’s vibrant arts and entertainment scene.
Booking the The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Stamford Suite
As usual, I did a simple booking just to experience the hotel which I have never stayed before. For this case, I booked the Terrace Room for one night stay. I do know that as I am a Discovery Titanium member that there was a chance of an upgrade and hence I was hoping for a one level room upgrade (or just early check in and late check out, to be honest..)..
But But But…. to my surprise, I was upgraded to the Stamford Suite. If you look at the web site for The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, it is not the entry level for a suite (if there is even such a thing as “entry level suite”). Instead it was in the middle of the list of suites in the property. So it was an amazing upgrade.
Thank you, GHA. I will continue to maximise the benefits of the membership.
For example, just this week, I returned to the ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay where I was upgraded to Collection King Marina Bay view room for a great one night stay with my kid.
Parking at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore
Parking was a little confusing for me initially and I turned around Stamford Road area, looking for the entrance to the car park….
Actually, parking is available within the integrated development of Capitol Singapore’s mall and is complimentary for guests. So I was able to park for the night free too.
There is a special section (with just a couple of lots) close to the entrance of the The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore so you would be lucky to find a lot there and able to walk very easily to the underground parking entrance.
Nice entrance, isn’t it…….
The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Lobby
The check in was done in a sit down table rather than a standing counter (just like at the St Regis) and done very efficiently and effectively. Of course, I was delighted to know of the upgrade.
The famous Lady in Red even escorted us to our suite and introduced us to all the goodies in the room. It was a wonderful check in experience.
The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Stamford Suite
Ok. All these talk are nothing compared to the HUGE suite we are welcomed to. The Stamford Suite is 61 m² / 656 ft² and it feels bigger that that. It was amazing.
Welcome to the The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, Patnotebook 🙂
When the Lady In Red opened the door to the Stamford Suite, and you are just feeling “wow”… when looking into the Suite..
Looking back at the door to the Suite..
To the left of the Suite is the toilet and dressing area..
Yes they prepared those children’s toiletries for my kid
To the right of the entrance is the shower tub (with its own LED TV) and the rain shower
After that, right in the middle of the suite, is the lounge area. There is a large TV here with a Sono Soundbar (but not Sonos Beam Gen 2) and a large lounge sofa. Also quite comfortable for sleeping 🙂
You can see all the goodies they prepared for us.. fruits and Bacha Coffee !!
And of course, we come to the sleeping area..
Another TV at the sleeping area..
A study table (with a mirror) is also in the sleeping area..
The study table with a street view of Stamford Road…
A book on the Black and White.. Ridout Road anyone 🙂
The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Swimming Pool
It is not really a large pool but as there are not many guests using it, the kids have fun with the pool and I have fun just lazing around on the deck chairs.
The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Breakfast
Breakfast is held at Capitol Kempinski’s main restaurant, 15 Stamford by Alvin Leung.
It is a very comfortable and elegant environment.
The buffet breakfast has an excellent spread and yes, even more Bacha Coffee 🙂
What is a breakfast in Singapore without Laksa
Kid’s Corner for Breakfast too
Conclusion of my stay at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore Stamford Suite
Beautiful ! Amazing !!
Compared to the Andaz Singapore Studio Suite or even the St Regis Singapore Caroline Astor Suite, I would say this suite is very much nicer, much more comfortable and really come with a very very elegant feeling. There is a deep air of sophistication that I cannot explain.
It was a very pleasing stay for the night. I would love to come back again.
