Back in August, there was a very special offer from the re-opened Andaz Singapore hotel for “Andaz Singapore Staycation Rates” where you can grab a Studio SUITE (Suite, Suite, Suite) for about SGD 320 nett.
At the same time, there was a separate offer from American Express Platinum Card for its members where if you spend $300 at hotels (Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton etc), you can get cash rebates. For Hyatt, that was $75. That brings down the whole Studio Suite to $245 per night. What a good deal !
These offers are pretty common from American Express and you can sign up for a AMEX Platinum Card here.

Andaz Singapore
Located inside of the amazing bee hive looking DUO Tower at Bugis Area, the Andaz Singapore is a pretty special hotel under the Hyatt Group. The other hotel in Singapore is, of course, the Grand Hyatt.
Take note that there is no free parking for hotel guests. It cost me about SGD50 for almost 24 hours of parking as I had a very nice late check out due to the World of Hyatt elite status.
The swimming pool at the Andaz Singapore is an infinity pool. It is not too big but a photography draw for many who “swim/walk/waddle” to the far end and try to take some nice photos 🙂
Andaz Singapore Studio Suite
Checking in and got a room on 34th floor.
The view down is quite scary (to me).
My Suite is located in a nice secluded corner of the 34th floor.
The door numbers are on very retro letterboxes, but I did not know how to use it. I struggled for a couple of mins on how to open the doors to the suite…….. Apparently you are supposed to wave the key card at the square dark box…. oh.. the door card reader is hidden there… I feel so “ulu”.
But all is forgiven once you walk into the Suite. There is a guest bathroom just next to the door.
And then the room say hi to you. With a view.
Now back to my normal photos posting. Ha.
At the back of the photo above, you can see the magnificent walk in wardrobe.
A nice large TV with a movable swing arm allows you to watch TV from almost all angles of the room.
An armchair awaits you and your thoughts. With a view of the Marina Singapore Bay.
The construction of Gucoo Mid Town is going on at the exact spot where I grew up 🙁
The view from the bed is even better at night.
There is also a living room in the suite. It has a nice L shaped sofa and its own TV and its own sound bar.
And oh, it is FREE FLOW of snacks and drinks at the mini bar ! With Nespresso coffee, of course.
The Bath Room of the Studio Suite
The best part of the Studio Suite is The Bath Room. Capital “THE BATH ROOM”. It is HUGE. It is BEAUTIFUL. It is SEXY. It is the PLACE where you nd your loved one can spend the freaking day inside the bath tub and make love all night long. IT IS AMAZING.
You can open up the window shades for everyone to see you in the bath tub.
The shower point is next to the bath tub. That Bath Tub.
On the opposite end of the bath room, a long walk (joking) from the bath tub, will take you to the WC.
They know you will spend too much time in the bath room so they provided a clock 🙂
I love hotels that proactively provides mouth wash.
A Wonderful Stay
The hotel sent up some gifts for the family.
But I prefer these slippers. COOOOOOOL. How very different from the normal bath room slippers of other hotel. Fits into the Bugis area culture. My time. When I stayed at Beach Road. Memories
It was a wonderful stay for the family. I could see the children love the suite a lot and for the cost, it was so justifiable.
And oh, may I add the breakfast photos. We ordered the free (part of the Suite package) breakfast and it was HUGE. We could not even finished the breakfast.
Thanks to the special rates and the AMEX Platinum Card cash rebate, it was a very special stay. Apply for your AMEX Platinum Card here to enjoy such offers !

Or you can consider the Capitol Kempinski Hotel if you like Suites. I love the Stamford Suites.
