The key advantage for Zeppelin Air is its AirPlay functionality (hence the name Air)… So here’s how i set it up using the iPhone app. There are a few other methods (which you can check up in the manual or web site) but this is the one I set up via.. it works perfectly 🙂
Go to App Store and Search for the app:
Launch it and you can walk through the process… It is critical that you do NOT connect any other cables except the power cable (e.g. network cable, aux cable, USB cable).. I noticed I always fail to set it up when I connect any of these cables.. dun know why…
This part is a bit tricky.. u might be looking around at the Zeppelin Air LED thinking it will change from RED to YELLOW.. dont need..just look at the iPhone app.. when it is ready, it will change to yellow..
Now next step is again tricky. LEAVE THE APP and GO TO SETTINGS > WIFI and UN-CHECK YOUR HOME WIRELESS NETWORK and then CHECK the ZEPPELIN AIR. For example, in my case, my home wireless network is PATRICKENGENIUS so I un-check it and then select the Zeppelin Air… (so it looks like the Zeppelin Air has “temporarily” become a router :p)…
And then you managed to “GAIN CONTROL” the Zeppelin Air and you are now trying to connect the Zeppelin Air to your original home wireless network.
First you name your Zeppelin Air.. I called mine “PatZeppelinAir” (Should have it called it SexyDarlingAir)
And now you try to connect to your home wireless network:
You will then see a message as follow:
And then.. after a long wait..
And then…
When you go to the iPhone Music player:
If you are successful, there will be a lag of couple of seconds and the iPhone will show ORANGE in the AIRPLAY button and the LED button on the Zeppelin is BLUE..
Fun times ! 🙂
