Pan Pacific Orchard is a hotel I never stayed before. So I took the chance of an offer from American Express Platinum Card to check it out during the June school holidays. I was staying at Pacific Club Balcony King room in this stay.
How did it go ?
As usual, the reason why I am going to stay in a staycation is also driven by the fact that AMEX Platinum Card (regularly) gives hotel refunds if you stay at the hotels they have selected.
As an example, this year, there was this offer of $80 refund if you stay in an Pan Pacific Hotel (such as Pan Pacific Singapore, ParkRoyal Collection at Marina Bay etc).
So do find out more about the AMEX Platinum Card. You will read a lot about how I use the many benefits of this card in this blog 🙂 It is worth its salt 🙂

Pan Pacific Orchard is just 1 year old
Let’s go to Pan Pacific Orchard today !
Pan Pacific Orchard was open to the public on Jun 1 2023, five years after the original building was demolished in April 2018 to make way for the ambitious new development. So it is exactly 1 year old when I visited this week.
Nestled on 10 Claymore Road, the newest addition to the Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) in Singapore has just opened its doors.
As the city’s second Pan Pacific hotel, this 23-storey haven offers 347 keys and is beautifully designed by the acclaimed architectural firm WOHA. Renowned for their innovative and sustainable designs, WOHA has also brought to life other gems like Parkroyal Collection Pickering and Oasia Hotel Downtown. Developed by UOL Group Limited, this hotel promises a unique and serene experience for all its guests.
And as you all know, I am also a member of the amazing Pan Pacific DISCOVERY loyalty programme and as a titanium member too. Which always prompt me to try to use Pan Pacific hotels worldwide. Such as the amazing Hotel Groove Shinjuku. I got an early check in (12 noon) and a super late check out (4pm) and a free upgrade of room too for this stay !!
Pan Pacific Orchard Lobby
Guests first enter the property through the second floor Forest Terrace, which boasts a cascading waterfall, and an immersive forest featuring tropical trees, undergrowth and weaving canopies. Actually I entered through the car park at B1 (the parking is easy and there are big parking lots, I love that in a hotel. Parking is free for hotel guests too. I love that too too too).
One common theme among my stay is everywhere it is HIGH CEILING. Like even in my room, which you can see later…
Lots of light. Nice
Check in was quick and I was given the chance to use my DS dollars (basically hotel currency earned when you stayed at a Pan Pacific hotel). I had quite a fair bit from my last stay at Shinjuku and was glad to be able to use them to further knock off the sale price of the room and then knowing that I am also able to get $80 back from AMEX.
Nice………….
I love how the lift lobbies on each floor is SO BRIGHT and NICE
Pan Pacific Orchard Pacific Club Balcony King
I was upgraded to a Pacific Club Balcony room with a King Size Bed.
The most outstanding thing about this room is, yes the high ceilings… Have you stayed in a hotel with such high ceilings…. it almost feels like home.. sometimes…
And because it is Balcony room, it came with a balcony that overlooks Garden Terrace on the 11th floor. The Garden Terrace is like a curated garden, complete with a central lawn area lined with private cabanas. It looks like a place people do wedding vows a lot 🙂
The balcony itself looks like those at home where you have a ziptrak blinds to keep out the elements. In this case, to keep the air con in. It comes with a comfortable sofa and a coffee table. But yes, that feeling of home…. just bigger :p
Opening up the “ziptrak blinds” (okay okay), you are treated to a nice view of Orchard Road (for my case, the CK Tang side) and also a view of the terrace.
A view of the terrace
This is how the balcony rooms look like from the outside…
At night it is pretty nice and romantic too.
Note that there is no bath tub…
Nice welcome git for Pan Pacific Discovery members
Not a bad start :p
Pacific Club Lounge
On 11th floor, club members will also enjoy dedicated access to the luxurious Pacific Club Lounge. I used it for many visits through the stay to grab a drink, grab some tea and gently enjoy a slow staycation.
The food was not too bad (it is just tea time !) and the environment is quiet and relaxing (save for the usual loud mouth guests from a certain country, as usual).
Many different type of sittings are available for your comfort and needs..
Swimming Pool and Gym
I love the large pool. I love the rooms that have a direct link to the pool that made me so jealous 🙂
Don’t you love it when hotels served a drink at the pool..
The rooms on the left have their own private sitting area and easy access to the pool from their rooms !
Nice view of Orchard Road from the pool too…
Guess if you stay on these floors, you will have nice view of the pool..
It was a pretty nice and LARGE swimming pool
Buffet Breakfast at Mosella
We can have breakfast at Mosella or the Pacific Club Lounge. We chose the former for its larger spread of food. And it was good….. The Roti Prata was superb. The eggs cooked by the chefs were so good too..
Conclusion : To stay or not to stay
Nice for a night or two. Closeness to Orchard Road (at least CK Tang and Shaw Centre etc) made it a good stay for some shopping and food and back to the hotel.
Service was great. Staff are friendly and helpful. We had a great time. You will too…
