For my trip to Osaka, I made a tour to Hiroshima to visit the Atomic Bomb Dome. I then spent the night at Nest Hotel Hiroshima before going to the Itsukushima Shrine at Miyajima Island. Even though it was just a short night stay, I did enjoy the hotel stay a lot. So let me share why and some photos

Why I Stay at Nest Hotel Hiroshima
The Nest Hotel Hiroshima is located at the Ebisucho 胡町 area. This area does have pretty good shopping centre and I chose this area for a couple of personal reasons
Address : NEST HOTEL HIROSHIMA HATCHOBORI13-12 Nobori-cho, Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima, Japan
Reason 1 : Location is near to Ebisucho 胡町 station
Not to be fooled but this is not exactly a MRT/Subway station. It is like a tram stop. But then I realised all over Hiroshima city, there is not really a subway but just surface trams all over. The Ebisucho 胡町 station tram stop is right outside the hotel and it brought me to the Hiroshima JR station very easily. And from there, I took the trains to Miyajima Island.
Reason 2 : It is near to one of the stop for the JR Hiroshima Sightseeing Bus
The JR Hiroshima Sightseeing Bus is very good way to explore Hiroshima and its many famous (r sadly famous) sights such as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial park & Museum, Atomic Bomb Dome or Hiroshima Castle.
Most importantly, the bus rides are ALL FREE if you also have the West JR Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass (which I purchased for this trip and I will share about it in a later post too).
You can take the JR Hiroshima Sightseeing Bus from Hiroshima JR Station (where there is a JR Shinkansen line from Shin-ÅŒsaka Station to Hiroshima Station, which is part of the West JR Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass.. with reserved seats too). You can see from this map that the place to take the JR Hiroshima Sightseeing Bus is highlighted in Green.
When you are at the Hiroshima JR station, you can take the Green Route of the JR Hiroshima Sightseeing Bus to the hotel. More importantly if you take the Orange Route, you can first visit the Atomic Bomb Dome and Hiroshima Peace Memorial park & Museum before going to Nest Hotel Hiroshima (alighting at Hatchobori stop).
Reason 3 : I can walk to Okonomimura from Nest Hotel Hiroshima
It is reasonably close to walk to eat some Hiroshima Okonomiyaki at the famous Shintenchi Okonomimura place.
Reason 4 : It is cheap and comes with Free Breakfast !
It only cost me SGD 75 for a room and I have to book two rooms. Pretty ok for me and it comes with free breakfast. Photos of that in the end of the blog post.
Lobby of Nest Hotel Hiroshima
It is a pencil thin hotel. I mean, look at that, stuck right in between two other buildings 🙂
The view of the hotel at night is even prettier.
The lobby is very nice. I find it very well designed and very comforting to come to this hotel. This is not a dingy hotel at all.
There is also a small area like a cafe where breakfast is served the next day.
And I love hotels that made it easy to call for Uber Eats in Japan
The lifts to the rooms.
Before you go up, collect some of the extra bathroom stuff you might need.
Nest Hotel Hiroshima Room
We got two rooms. I booked the Twin Room (Non Smoking) for two person. I was not expecting much. This is no IHG Holiday Inn Shin-Osaka or Marriott Courtyard at Shin Osaka after all. But to our surprise, my partner was totally impressed by the uniqueness of the rooms. And to be honest, after a long day at the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial park & Museum, coming back to the room was really nice.
Photos !
The air con looks like the one at my home 🙂
Two beds in the room…
The bedside
A nice coffee table with a nice way of hanging up your stuff
The TV console with small fridge and coffee making stuff
A coffee is a nice way
And I seldom do this but I actually slept in their PJs 🙂
Simple bath room and toilet with bath tub. Enough for a night stay.
Simple Toiletries
Now this is cool way of “clean my room” or “do not disturb”. Simple magnets do the job.
As a whole, good enough for a night stay. I slept really well and was totally refreshed the next day for Miyajima Island !
Nest Hotel Laundry Room and Microwave
This is not much of a use for me as I am staying only one night (we left most of our luggages in IHG Holiday Inn Shin-Osaka and paid for Yamato to deliver them to Courtyard by Marriott at Shin-Osaka and just bring a small overnight bag for our trip to Hiroshima and Kobe). Still I really like it when hotels have laundry rooms.
Vending machine too. They are everywhere in Japan.
Nest Hotel Free Breakfast
To be honest, I was not even aware of the free breakfast when I booked the rooms. But hey it was very nice when a hotel gives free breakfast to start the day on the right way.
You can just pick up a pre-prepared (nicely) breakfast set and bring it to your room.
Also pick up your free coffee or tea too.
From This Hotel to Miyajima Island
The next day, it was a simple walk to the tram station right in front of the hotel to take the train to Miyajima Island where we can see the most beautiful Itsukushima Shrine and its Torii Gate
Conclusion
I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are spending a night (or two) at Hiroshima. The hotel rooms are clean. The hotel itself looks nice. And the location is really good. Cannot go wrong 🙂
