Platinum Avenue AMEX is a new (temporary) lounge at Raffles City. The Platinum Avenue is actually only open from now till 14 February 2023, and is open exclusively for Platinum Charge and Centurion cardholders.

Followers of my blog know that I am a great fan of the American Express Platinum Card. The benefits are amazing (I just redeemed $400 Travel Credit and $400 Hotel Credit that came as part of this year’s renewal package) and there are always some special benefits every now and then. Platinum Avenue AMEX at Raffles City
Platinum Avenue is located on the third floor of the Raffles City Shopping Centre (you know the one that is right next to City Hall MRT station). It is located close to the food court too. It is open only to the main AMEX Platinum Charge and Centurion cardholders, with opening hours from 11 a.m to 9 p.m daily. My partner (who is my supplementary card holder) was told that she needed to bring me (the main card holder) along 🙂
Free Drinks at the Platinum Avenue AMEX
This is the kind of place for people like me. I hate shopping so it will be great for me to hang out here while the shopping partner goes on her (or his) mad Christmas shopping.
The seats are not too comfortable for a long stay though…
There are free drinks (coffee, tea and water) for a quiet time in the small lounge which is great. All shopping centres should, by law, have such a place for men. And their kids….
Platinum Avenue Best Feature : Mobile Phone Charging
There is a damn good feature of the Platinum Avenue Lounge. You see, there is a phone charge station for free charging of your (battery level actually more than 20%) expensive mobile smartphones.
This is very thoughtful indeed. You see, this way, I can just pretend I am running out of juice, place my phone inside the charging locker, quietly enjoy my coffee and then have the best excuse for ignoring messages such as “Is this Issy Miyake handbag nice ? It is only $400, you know. Can I sign using the American Express Platinum Sup card ?”…..
Brilliant… Thank you, Amex. There are Coach, Issy Miyake and god knows how many luxury shops on the first floor…..
Game Machines at Platinum Avenue Raffles City
The PONG machine right in the middle of the Platinum Avenue lounge is pretty cool. It makes you remember your younger days.
There are other machines to play, but those require credits (which I think you can “earn” by buying that Issy Miyaki handbag using the AMEX Platinum Card (and only that card..). Show the receipt and get the credits to play….. or redeem wine etc.

Selfie Photo Booth for you and your sweet heart
Now assuming your partner accepts your explanation on why you ignored her messages on using the American Express supplementary Platinum Card (which by the way, is free for 2 supplementary cards… so that your wife and your mistress can bankrupt you)…. you can then make her happy by taking some sweet happy selfie photos at the free Photo Booth. Take as many as you want. The photos can even be made into a short video if you enter your email for the machine to send you the video…
Platinum Avenue by American Express Conclusion
Great idea during this festive period (till end of Feb) for a place to rest your tired legs and have a nice coffee and take some selfie photos after your shopping. This sort of “privilege” for a premium charge card and credit card should be made more often so that card holders will continue to shell out annual fees and be a loyal holder. Although I don’t know if a lounge like this will necessarily be a factor when you decide if you want to pay $1,712 again every year.
I do as I find the benefits worthwhile…
