PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road might not be something we think of when we have an idea to go a staycation. But the location of PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road is not something to sniff at as it is just right next to City Square Mall. In addition, our all time Mustafa Centre is also close by and of course, all the great food along Little India. And of course, the Farrer Park MRT is right next to the hotel and brings you everywhere to Singapore easily.
I must admit I was surprised how nice the hotel is as it has just gone through a renovation about pre-Covid times (and then Covid strikes and the rest is history).
The other hotel nearby is the Holiday Inn Singapore Little India.
The hotel entrance and lobby look good !! PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road Entrance is grand looking and the lobby looks bright and very welcoming.
For this stay, I booked a lead in room at this hotel as I have 200 DS to spend before the Dec deadline and I thought I would do a quick simple one night stay.
GHA Discovery Programme
As a Titanium member of the GHA Discovery Programme, I always look forward to what a GHA hotel would offer me whenever I check in. These benefits are never guarantee (of course) but the hotels almost always give me very good benefits. This is also why I try to stay at GHA hotels such as ParkRoyal at Pickering Road, ParkRoyal at Beach Road and finally my favourite ParkRoyal Collection at Marina Bay. I have an upcoming stay at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore which I would do blog post for sure 🙂
And I always appreciate the possibility of early check in and 4pm check out. And the chances (however it might not happen at very popular hotels) of a 2 tier upgrade.
PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road Executive King Suite
Hence I was looking forward to what the PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road would offer me. Indeed they never let me down. They upgraded me to an Executive King Suite which is great value for money as I only “pay” for a lead in room and even that was using the soon-to-be-expired DS dollars 🙂
The 52sqm Executive King Suite is located on the higher floors and is perfect for those looking for a simple but clean hotel in Singapore. It has a nice King Size bedroom and a separate living area with wooden looking furnishings. The ensuite bathroom comes with a bath tub and an executive desk means you can stay on top of work with ease.
However as this is an upgrade, I don’t get to enjoy the Executive Lounge Exclusive Privileges.

In the PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road, the Executive King Suite comes with a separate sleeping area. This has a huge King Size bed… very comfortable. Five pillows !!!

Just opposite the bed, next to the ensuite bathroom is the wardrobe. The usual stuff. Slippers. Bathroom robes. Safe. An iron tucked away.

Conclusion of PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road
I did not have high expectations of the hotel as it was not exactly located in an area that I am used to. But the hotel turns out to be beautiful, clean and definitely served the purpose of a good hotel in an excellent location.
The The Executive King Suite upgrade as a result of my GHA Titanium membership really made the short one day stay a nice and comfortable one.
