Lower Seletar Reservoir Park : A Simple 3km Walk

I did a short walk at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park today. It is a simple 3km walk. It was pretty nice and comfortable so I totally enjoyed it.

Lower Seletar Reservoir Park is a popular park in the northern part of Singapore, known for its scenic views and recreational activities. The park is a great spot for various outdoor activities like jogging, cycling, and kayaking. It also features a Family Bay with a water play area, a Heritage Bridge, and even a fishing jetty.

It is at Yishun Avenue 1. Here’s a Google Map to show you where 🙂

Many years ago (in 2010), I did tried out this park but it was not a good experience. Things have certainly improved now. Check out my old (lousy) blog post on Jogging at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park to see how it was in year 2010… 14 years ago !

Parking at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park

You can see from the map above that there is a public parking car park at the park. In google map, that would be Lower Seletar Reservoir Park Carpark.

It is a pretty small car park.

Walking at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park

The Park is not too big. It is actually a L shaped walk. The thing is that the Park actually can help you go to a few other PCN (Park Connector Networks) such as Mandai PCN, Khatib Bongsu Park Connector and as you can see later, even to Springleaf Park Connector !

Here’s a PCN map that you can always find at the entrance to many PCNs.

The Heritage Bridge

The first interest point once you parked and move into the park, is the Heritage Bridge. It is a beautiful place indeed.

After the water play area is a toilet and water point for your drinks.

And a little more walk is the Camelot Water Sports Centre. It looks like you can do a few kinds of water sports here too !

Fishing Jetty

There is also a fishing jetty at the middle of the park.

Isn’t this approach to the Fishing Jetty beautiful ?

A beautiful view of the condo opposite the park. What great views the residents of this condo must have !

After the fishing jetty, cross over the bridge to go to the “leg” of the park.

From here, you are walking under the MRT track.. specifically between Yishun and Yio Chu Kang… The MRT track provides a good shade…

When you walk to the end, you can either make a U TURN and walk back to the starting point of Lower Seletar Reservoir Park or interestingly enough, you can try to go over to Springleaf PCN to go to Springleaf Nature Park. I am certainly going to try that the next time. But this time, I took the U Turn 🙂

Here’s the stair case leading the way to Springleaf Park Connector.

I am excited to try that out !

Else walk back to the starting point…. this time, I am not under the MRT track 🙂

Total Distance for A Walk

The total distance to cover from the car park and back to the car park is about 3 km. So it is a simple comfortable walk (or even a run for 2.4km IPPT) :p

To Go or Not To Go

The ease of parking and the fact it is a simple walk (if you want to) or a starting point to a much longer walk to Springleaf Park or to Mandai PCN, makes this walk a good STARTING Point to other PCNs. Park here and then walk to one of the THREE PCNs.

If you like a better reservoir park walk, then try the Lower Peirce Reservoir Park.

I love PCNs 🙂
