Ladies Street Sik Fan Co

Ladies Street Sik Fan Co is located in the vibrant Mong Kok district, home to the famous “Ladies Street” market ! Although in recent years, the street has become much quieter. I am worried it will become part of history 🙁

Actually it is located RIGHT ABOVE the Ladies Street (or Tung Choi Street). You can see the street from the restaurant if you sit at the windows.

Ladies Street Sik Fan Co. has quickly become a favourite dining spot since its opening. This Hong Kong restaurant has captured the attention of both locals and tourists alike by reviving the cherished Dai Pai Dong culture.

Dai Pai Dong—the iconic open-air food stalls that thrived in Hong Kong during the 1970s and 1980s—are known for serving authentic Cantonese dishes in a lively, informal setting. Due to strict regulations and hygiene concerns, these once-popular stalls are now a rare sight.

One that I so called went to is the one at Hing Kee Restaurant 興記煲仔飯. Or 合興 (A TVB Favourite Filming Location).

However, Ladies Street Sik Fan Co is dedicated to preserving this nostalgic dining experience, offering the same flavors and charm of a Dai Pai Dong, but within a modern restaurant space. Actually at this place, it is ALL ABOUT the deco (but the food is pretty good too !!)

How to get to Ladies Street Sik Fan Co ?

Pretty easy. Get yourself to Yau Ma Tei MTR Station and Exit at A2 exit. Walk a little north and get to Tung Choi Street. The restaurant is on the second floor (take the lift) on a building in the middle of Ladies Street.

Here, I got you a name card for the place. CALL AHEAD TO MAKE RESERVATIONS !!

The portion sizes were impressively generous, even as we ordered the smallest possible sizes.

Decorations at Ladies Street Sik Fan Co

As I mentioned, this place is all about its deco. It attempts to recreate the old days of the Ladies Street or other parts of Hong Kong shop fronts such as Hair Dresser or Noodles Shop (e.g 香港车仔面) or motels etc.

Check out the different “shops” within the restaurant.

Ladies Street Sik Fan Co : To Go Or Not To Go

Overall, the food quality at Ladies Street Sik Fan Co. is really good (to me). I enjoyed my food there and it was pretty nice.

The nostalgic ambiance has made this restaurant a trendy hotspot, especially for those looking to enjoy the classic Dai Pai Dong dining experience. In an AIR CON place. Not dirty place.

It is a budget-friendly option for both locals and tourists (in today’s inflation crazy environment). And it gives you a good reason to visit Ladies’ Street before it disappears… Who Knows.

GO 🙂
