Recently I stayed at Keio Plaza Hotel and I like this hotel for its location. It is pretty near to Shinjuku subway station and in the process of walking to the station from hotel to Shinjuku subway, you get to walk through quite a range of shops, including some selling cheap household products and cosmetics products. There are also the fantastic camera/electronics shops like Yodobashi (which amazingly have announcements and staff speaking Mandarin.. guess even Japan is ….).
The other 2 good things of the hotel are the Disney connection and the Limo bus to and from the airport. The Keio Plaza Hotel is one of the few downtown Tokyo Disney Resort Good Neighbor Hotels and hence they have complimentary shuttle bus service to and from Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea Park. Advanced reservations are required and make sure you collected a ticket from the receptionist upon check in.
The second good thing is that there is a counter selling the Limousine Airport bus tickets to the 2 Tokyo airports. Buses leave for the two airports every hour and hence make it really easy to go to the airport from the hotel…
Typical small Japanese hotel room:
The toilet bowl in Japan always make me happy …
I like the selection of shampoo and body wash and in a rare show of attentiveness amongst hotels, there is a Branded Facial Cleanser !!
The TV remote in Japanese
By the way, the buffet breakfast in the basement of the hotel is wickedly good. I would recommend this hotel for your Tokyo stay.
