For this trip to Kawaguchiko, I stayed at this hotel, Konansou Fuji Kawaguchiko Onsen Resort. It was an EXCELLENT hotel…. I booked a Room with Open-air Bath and facing the Mount Fuji side (this would be type J in the web site..).
The hotel is accessible by the red loop of the Kawaguchiko bus. The hotel is just opposite station stop 10

Alternatively, call the hotel when you arrived at Kawaguchiko station and they will send a car to pick you up. They will also send you to the Kawaguchiko Station when you checked out.

Of course, the highlight of the room is the open air bath with Mt Fuji view:

The hotel itself is, of course, a hot spring hotel and has separate onsen bath for men and women.

I highly recommend the private onsen bath. It is not expensive but you do need to book it so that you can get the time slot you wanted.
