Years ago, when you play a Final Fantasy game, you jumped right into it and spent tons of time (and tears and brain juice) to crack the different side quests and main story.
Then perhaps like me, the useless one, I would go to gamesfaq to download someone’s walkthrough and tried my hand. For example, recently, I finally completed final fantasy IX using gamesfaq walkthrough which literally make my whole journey a breeze (and a collector.. since I collected almost every thing possible, ate every monster possible, play every side quest possible…). And it is free !!
Today, you almost always must buy one of these official guides. The games have became so complicated that, believe me, you cannot possible complete the game without a hint or two. Or three… or make it hundreds.
So here I am, with the Final Fantasy XIII-2 The Complete Official Guide..
It is a BEAUTIFUL book. I mean, I spent time reading it and admiring the pictures (and the pretty Serah pictures…)… Here’s one of Serah… SEXY RIGHT !!
There are some nice large screenshots/artwork through out the book that are there purely for looks and they are really nice.
Like an art book !
From the hard covering to the beautiful artwork and screenshots, you won’t be disappointed when reading through this guide. Finally, The Final Fantasy XIII-2 strategy guide contains a ton of information! Actually you can go to Piggyback (the producer’s web site) to even download some sample pages:
KUPO !! KUPO !! KUPO !!
The guide is fantastically written so you know where your going, how to get there, who you’ll be fighting/facing along the way, and what will happen when you reach your destination. Secondly, the overall design of the strategy guide is amazing.
Walkthrough are a basic guide to the area you are now in… it does not contain as much information and are for those who want to have a quick guide but not too many hints… (frustrating.. because it means I must read this and go to another section known as Tour Guide for more details.. u then end up flipping between these 2 sections..uuurgghh)
The Tour guide part is more detailed with lots more information and including nice maps !!
The strategy guide has information on the Main Storyline, 100% Completion, Inventory Items(Key Items, Weapons, Accessories, etc.), Monsters, Trophies/Achievements, and so much more. As added little bonuses, it also has a handy Beginners Section to help newcomers with Final Fantasy XIII-2 and A Behind The Scenes Section that shows the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Development Team’s thoughts on the game.
How to grow your character !
How to solve the crazy stupid puzzles in the game !
All the weapons and inventories you can get from the game !
Yes.. a whole monster list !!
One thing is the way they designed it made you have to flip back and forth in different sections of the book just to fully complete one map/level walk through – but that is why they have two fabric book marks (cool huh !) to mark the sections.
I actually dont think 2 is enough. You need about 4-5.. 2 for the different sections to cover a particular zone, and 2-3 more for the other parts covering the details of monsters, how to grow your character and maybe even how to properly answer the questions posed by the NPC… anyway.. I guess I will end up using lots of nice post it to act as bookmarks…
You must buy this book !!!
