As I have no experience with Hue products, I took the chance to pick up a starter kit. I believe this is the OLDER kit “Philips 426353 Hue Personal Wireless Lighting, Starter Pack, Retail” rather than the latest Philips 456210 Hue White and Color Ambiance Starter A19 Kit with the new Hue bridge with support for Apple’s new HomeKit bridge !

Nevertheless, since it is for testing and playing around, that’s fine… (not so fine actually, on hindside :p)

Actually the good thing about Hue is always the iPhone app and its ability to set scenes and customising of amazing range of different lights… But if all you want is just a simple bulb who can deliver TWO (yes, two) types of light (Warm and Cool) which is in most cases, what we want, then there is a new Philips product called Philips Scene Switch:

Two in one.. very Singaporean 🙂

And oh, all these bulbs are the traditional E27 socket.. which is a little challenge as ceiling lights in false ceilings. Sigh. First World Problem 🙂
