This is the first time I am staying at the Westin Beijing Chaoyang. It was not exactly the choice but my usual hotel in Beijing was full for the period I was there. Surprisingly it turned out to be easier to go to my office (it was a direct route by the very cheap but good China subway) than the previous hotel I stayed at.
In terms of surrounding areas, there are a few small shopping malls but if you are here to shop, you will be disappointed. There is a famous Peking Duck shop nearby which I will share a blog post later. There is a Subway right at the entrance (Liang Ma Qiao 亮马桥) which makes it convenient to go around Beijing.
The subway line is line 10.
Exit A at Liangmaqiao 亮马桥 will lead you to the hotel.

The view from my room is not bad too… day and night, there was traffic jam on that long road.. 🙂
The room itself is slightly smaller than the one in Westin Bund Shanghai. But still very comfortable and nice.

Two things I like about Westin Beijing Chaoyang
There are free movies in the room ! Lots of latest blockbuster movies in English and Chinese (and Cartoons !). You will not leave the room…
The service at this hotel is fantastic. As an example, I asked for some advice on what are the good places to go nearby. They did not just shared a few places. They even printed out the guides !! Amazing !!
This is a very very nice touch. I am so impressed by these and other small actions throughout the stay.
