The Westin Bund Center Shanghai is located at a very good location in Shanghai.
About just 5 minutes way from the beautiful Bund and about 10 minutes walk away from the Nanjing East subway station. Jus outside the station is the famous pedestrian section of Nanjing East Road. There is an Apple Store there, if you are an Apple fan 🙂
Photos of the reception area which is huge, airy and very nice.
The breakfast area is very airy and well lit (due to the exposed roof) and it makes a great start to the day. The food is not bad too.
I was staying there in March and got a nice upgrade to a bigger room (because of my membership in Marriott Bonvoy). The upgraded room is like a mini-suite. It comes with a living area, a huge washroom but a rather small bedroom. Nevertheless, as in all Westin hotels, the bed is so fantastic !

There is a huge wardrobe just next to the door.
Just opposite the sofa is a large TV (which has an irritating habit of switching on at the same time as the one in the bedroom). And the doorway to the master bedroom.

Another TV hangs on the wall so that you can watch the TV channels from the bed…
A nice touch.. I like it whenever USB charging ports are provided. It is almost a crime NOT to have any of these in your hotel rooms now.
And like all Westin, the emphasis on the well-being of the guests are very welcomed. Here’s the Lavender Balm provided by the side of the bed. For a good night sleep.
A rather large sliding door leads you to the large bathroom.
It has separate WC room, a shower room with rainforest shower and a bath tub.
And very well stocked toiletries… including mouth wash. Again, something I really appreciated.
As a conclusion, I would recommend this hotel very much on your stay in Shanghai. I did preferred this hotel compared to the Hyatt on the Bund I stayed in previously. The only drawback is there is not much of a view to speak about when staying in this Westin hotel. The Hyatt on the Bund, assuming you get the Bund View, has a much prettier view.
