Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview is actually a Marriott hotel and one of the several in the city of Singapore. It is located right next to the Singapore River (upstream, rather than the city itself).
This particular hotel is situated at the Havelock area, near to Great World City and other hotels nearby.
Like a few Marriott hotels in Singapore, they are also offering a Day Stay package too. The packages are known officially as the “Work Differently” packages. They have two packages.
One is the co-working space. Which is really affordable and very value for money. For just $18.80, you get to sit for 12 hours (yes…) at the Four Points Eatery cafe with free flow of coffee/tea AND wifi AND breakfast or lunch. My experience there is that it can get pretty noisy during meal times sometimes but else it is not so packed.
This is the cafe where you will work from. It is pretty empty (except for one person working there) on a Friday.
Day Stay Room Package
The other package is the Day Stay Hotel at $120 nett (that means taxes included). This comes with a room. With a bed. The package details are :
Usage of guest room from 7 a.m to 7 p.m
Use of fitness centre and swimming pool
1 complimentary meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) at Four Points Eatery
Complimentary coffee and tea
Earn Marriott Bonvoy points (and nights)
Now for us, the elite status crazy fans…. as “Alex Goran” said in the “Up in the Air” movie…
So if the above is the same for you, the day stay earn Marriott Bonvoy points and nights. Hell, even the co-working package earns you points. But that must be very little points.
The fact that you can also earn nights is VERY important if you are trying to meet your elite nights qualifications for elite status.
Together with the Marriott Vagabond Club Hotel, these two represent the best way to get your elite qualification and even a status match challenge to Elite Platinum. More on that in the future blog post.
Remember you can get Marriott Gold status immediately when you get the American Express Platinum Card. So that gets you a quick entry into the elite status and you can try to work your way up to the elite Platinum status too.

Let’s talk parking. Officially parking costs $8 in addition to your hotel bill. That allows you to go in and out multiple times. You pay for this as part of the bill and collect the tickets when you need it. Maybe you can lucky but I did not get a waiver off this parking fee.
And yes, you get a meal too at the cafe. Either the breakfast or the lunch. Not bad at all.
Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Lobby
The Lobby is very simple and the Cafe is just nearby. Nothing more to say.
Yes, if you need a reminder.
Four Points by Sheraton and Views Available
My Elite Premium gives me an “upgrade” from the lead in Deluxe Room to the Premium Room. The Premium room, I was told, is just a different view from the Deluxe Room. Deluxe Room gives you the city view. Premium Room gives you the river view.
I enjoyed looking at the River Gate and Robertson Quay condos.
If you got a City View hotel, get a high floor and it is not that bad a view either.
The Four Points by Sheraton Premium Room
King Size bed. How much work can you do with a bed like that tempting you to sleep and rest.
This is a neat wide table. Enough for your laptop, iPad and work files. Really good for a work from hotel stay.
Two power points and a USB charger at the table
The sofa next to the window is pretty much the nice part of the room. You can sit there and just pop up your laptop on your thighs and enjoy your work and the view.
Even the City view looks great to work from.
Rest Assured is the name for keeping and cleaning for the hotel. The gifts are minimal. Just one Alcohol wet wipe. Just one wipe. No masks.
The TV Channels in the hotel. Yes there is CNN !! 🙂
The toilet is pretty minimal and did came with toothbrushes.
Definitely not as lush and nice as the Marriott Tang Plaza.
In some rooms, it came with a bath tub ! Make sure you tell the receptionist if this is important to you.
There are FOUR bottles of water in the room. Very good 🙂
Food at the Hotel Cafe
The package comes with a meal. Either breakfast or lunch. The breakfast, for example, is actually a buffet breakfast but due to Covid, it is now ordered through a form that you can keep ordering once you finished with it.
And Lunch if you so wish too.
Conclusion
At $120 nett (or $128 including parking), this represents pretty good value for a day stay that earns points and nights with the Marriott Bonvoy elite programme. The stay even comes with a proper meal at the cafe.
The hotel is clean and nice and located at a pretty interesting location where you can have a good jog (by the river) or a walk along the river and just enjoy a quiet afternoon after you have done your work for the day.
Highly recommended.
