The old Brother printer HL-2270DW at home has been giving problems (toner leaking, black thick printing lines on the right side) so it is time for a new one…. the computer exhibition show, SITEX was on at Expo today and I picked up the Brother HL-L2375DW at $188 as I was on the way home.
The main reason for getting this printer was because at its size (I have a particular maximum size that I can accommodate due to the need to place this printer into my TV console drawer), this is probably the only printer that I can find that provided Duplex Printing automatically. Most of the other brands (Canon, HP) have to do it manually (for this particular compact small size). And as you will realize, the DW at the end of the HL-L2375DW is very important too ๐
Unboxing !
The power button and a few buttons (which I had to use to enter my SSID password for WLAN connection). Quite a chore when the password is super strong….
The usual set of stuff.. manuals, USB cable (for PC and printer), power cords (2 different types) etc..
The toner and drum:
Fitting the toner and drum into the printer
The printer’s USB and LAN point:
And yes, it fits into the same place where the old printer (HL-2270DW) used to be.

And what’s Wifi Direct.. Wi-Fi Direct is one of the wireless configuration methods developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance. It allows you to configure a secured wireless network between your Brother machine and a mobile device, without using an access point….
And oh yes, after years of using the Brother Print and Scan iPhone app to do printing (as the HL 2270 does not support Apple AirPrint) and having to sometimes using a lot of hacks to even print an email, it is (finally) so nice to able to just use the PRINT button in iPhone directly to do printing !
