This is a hike I did recently from Ulu Pandan PCN to Hillview MRT. It was quite a simple walk although I must admit that I should just have stopped at Bukit Batok Nature Park. The part of the walk from Bukit Batok to Hillview MRT was forgettable ๐

Here’s the map of my walk.

A long time ago, I did a hike from West Coast Park to Buona Vista MRT. This is via the Ulu Pandan PCN. At Faber Heights area, I did a right turn to go down the Ulu Pandan PCN to Buona Vista MRT.
Today for this walk, we are going to turn left at Faber Heights area to go to Hillview.
Parking to start hike from Ulu Pandan PCN to Hillview MRT
To start the hike, I parked at Blk 402 Pandan Gardens, Singapore 600402. It is an open air car park right next to the Pandan Garden Park Connector. The PCN with the magnificent bridge crossing the Aye Rajah Expressway.

The Pandan Garden Park Connector is right next.

From here, you will cross the AYE with the help of the beautiful and amazing roundabout bridge. Good for cyclists and hikers. Not before the nice view of the day light at the new launch condos around here.

As usual, the useful PCN maps tell you the way.

The bridge…

The necessary photo of AYE when crossing it ๐

After Crossing the Bridge
After crossing the bridge, you will see this signboard. We will be turning right to the Ulu Pandan PCN.

One day (yes, I always say that), we will start this route again at Blk 402 Pandan and then turn left to the Jurong Town Hall PC.
You will then see this familiar place.

The route on the right is the exact one we took during our hike to Buona Vista, passing many nice condos including the new launch Faber Residence.
But this time we are taking the left. The PCN Map shows it well. We are taking the left side to Bukit Gombak Park.

Here’s the route we will be taking from PCN Map.. The purple is our route today. The red was our route previously to Buona Vista.

Let’s go !
Starting our hike from Ulu Pandan Park Connector
Good Morning Singapore !

From here, we will walk to Bukit Batok Nature Park.

You will walking along side Pandan River in Singapore.

Pandan River runs along the side of PCN and has quite a few industrial estates along side too.

One common theme of this walk along Ulu Pandan PCN to Hillview is that there are many “breaks” along the way to cross the roads. You have to cross the roads via traffic lights. No underground etc.

The first break is quite confusing but you just need to cross this traffic crossing.

And then find the entrance BACK to the Ulu Pandan PCN.

And then continue the PCN down… this time, you will find the river becoming a drain and it is a little “low tide”..

All this time, you are walking parallel to the Jurong PCN.

Soon, another “break” to cross the road via a pedestrian crossing. This one more direct.

And then back to PCN…

Good calm morning with my Apple Ear Phones and enjoying my walk….

The drain is pretty dry…

If you don’t want to cross the road, I supposed you can follow this gentleman’s way. JUST WALK INSIDE THE DRAIN !!!!

If you see this PCN sign, don’t worry you have not transported to Jurong ๐

Take this route…

But watch out for this entrance BACK to Ulu Pandan PCN… to continue our route to Bukit Batok ! You will want to take the LEFT side to go to Bukit Batok Nature Park (instead of the right).

Which leads to a bridge over PIE ๐

HELLO PIE Expressway !!

After crossing this bridge, you will continue your way to Bukit Batok Nature Park.
From Bukit Batok to Bukit Batok Nature Park
Although we are now at Bukit Batok area, we are still technically in Ulu Pandan PCN…

Another day, another drain..

We are now at Bukit Batok Industrial Estate Park A…

From this map, you can see we are now walking through the Bukit Batok (South) HDB town. So in a way, it has lost its “PCN” status…

First, we need to cross this road…

To get back to “PCN”…

Watch out for Keming Primary School on your left.

Because you will need to cross over to Keming Primary School at the square junction…

After crossing the road, you will see this nice “PCN” route along the drain, next to the school…

It is a nice way to walk…

And then yet another traffic junction.

But the fun part is here.. the 12 Zodiac Signs !!! Whose idea is this to have the 12 animal signs in the middle of a HDB estate ! :). Officially this is the Bukit Batok East Zodiac Statues.

Continuing the walk down this route, you will say hi to Harry Potter’s Wesley Family and then reach the Bukit Batok Nature Park.

You can turn left to continue the walk like I did..

And you will (if you are walking with me to Hillview MRT), you will see a lot of “Kurt Tay” a lot…. literally littering the whole estate with his photo.

Actually if you stop here now, the distance is pretty good at 5.42 km with a walking time of 1:18 hours.

Hillview PCN : From Bukit Batok Nature Park to Hillview MRT
Basically we are doing this walk at Hillview PCN !

Or

Indeed it is pretty boring walk along many many private condos such as Petal Condo

Or Meralodge, a Freehold Condo ๐

Or apartments such as Hillview Apartments. Basically the whole walk from Bukit Batok Nature Park to Hillview are just condos and apartments, one after another ๐

And some new launches show flats such as The Myst and HillHaven at this area…

One thing I found interesting was the publicity around the bus service at this area. I can understand why.. this is a condo/apartment area which can do with bus services to the MRT stations…

And yes from the above photo to the below photo.. There are lots of Kurt… he is everywhere.. and every poster…. and every opportunity….

Along the way you will see signs leading you to Hillview MRT.. So you will not lose your way..

Finally you will reach Hillview Junction which is outside Hillview MRT…

But there is this interesting side walk.. which I believe will lead us to the Rail Corridor ! I have not walk the Rail Corridor for a while !!

And now, when you reach Hillview MRT, don’t be in a hurry to go into the MRT. Walk a little further, up a bridge and you will see the new beautiful Hillview Connect !!
Hillview Connect is a unique road link underneath the iconic Rail Corridor that features a green roof for Hillview residents to enjoy. A true civil engineering feat that now brings greater connectivity and convenience to our residents who can use the pathway to access Hillview MRT station and Rail Corridor.

If you want to visit this Hillview Connect, you can also park at Dairy Farm Rd Car Park A. And if you are hungry, then walk a little south to Rail Mall for Roti Prata ! ๐

Total Distance from Pandan PCN to Hillview MRT
The total distance from Pandan PCN to Hillview MRT is 7.27km and it took me 1.45 hours to do so.

Here’s the Runkeeper map of the route …

I should really walk more !! There are so many PCNs and Rail Corridor routes to explore !
