Tze Shan Monastery 慈山寺 Chinese New Year 庚子年 2020 : Our Visit
In 庚子年 2020, before Covid becomes such a big issue as it is today, I managed to squeeze in a visit during Chinese New Year to Hong Kong. On the first day of Chinese New Year, I visited my most favourite place in Hong Kong, the amazing Tze Shan Monastery 慈山寺 (Facebook Page : https://www.facebook.com/tszshanmonastery/)

How to go to Tze Shan Monastery 慈山寺 ? Do read this article to find out how.

Even though it was Chinese New Year day 1, I managed to grab one of the earliest slot (you need to book your visit via their web site). It was, as usual, very peaceful, early in the morning.

The crowds are coming in slowly…

First stop is always to do a prayer at the 大雄宝殿

During the Chinese New Year in 庚子年 2020, Tze Shan Monastery 慈山寺 organised a few interesting activities for the devotees.
There is a place to write and hang your wishes…

This was mine.. er… never mind 🙂

There were many cute cartoons cupboards to take photos with too.

Of course, I must visit the Guan Yin statue itself and do the water blessing walk.

And to walk round the Guan Yin and receive her kind blessings from her vase

Also got a nice advice card from the Tze Shan Monastery 慈山寺

And I placed it in my iPhone to remind myself.

There was also a fun activity where you go around the huge temple grounds to collect a stamp. After collecting all six stamps, you can receive a blessing bag from the Tze Shan Monastery 慈山寺.

And, of course, I never missed out to “mediate” with the writing of the buddha scripture

The grounds were full of beautiful flowers too.

Looking at these photos from my visit a year ago (庚子年 2020) and with our inability to travel this year due to Covid, it really made me miss travel a lot and especially miss travelling to Hong Kong a lot.
Hope things can get better soon and we can all travel again !
I wish all my readers a happy Chinese New Year !!
