The Twelve South Journal for iPad Pro is the latest product from Twelve South. Over the years, I have many products from Twelve South. You can see my purchases of Twelve South products here. My favourite so far is the Twelve South HiRise which I used for my Mac mini.
I ordered the Twelve South Journal for 11″ iPad Pro and I ordered on their web online store and got a 12% discount for being a first time buyer (ha ha). The discount actually covered the relatively cheap shipping cost to Singapore. It arrived a few days later and here is the unboxing ! 🙂

There is a pocket on the left which Twelve South claimed that you can put a slim, compact keyboard. Or you can place your name cards, a thin note book or some documents for your appointment. I can imagine sales people finding this very useful. For most of us, we can also put our wired Apple Earphones into it.
It is very easy to fit the iPad Pro into the “holder” in the Twelve South Journal. So easy that they still supplied a manual card 🙂

Your Apple Pencil can still be charged by the iPad magnetic charger. It does fit rather snuggly and initially you might not be used to it (might need to be a little moving to make sure it is charging). After a while, you are used to the tight fit and trust me, it does fit and charging still take place.
Of course, the iPad Journal is not just for carrying around the iPad. You must be able to work on the iPad Pro even when it is fitted in the Journal (although I do see myself taking it out of the Journal to hold it without the Journal in bed).
Anyway there are two positions. One is the rather flat typing / sketching wedge and the other is as a display stand.
A manual card again 🙂
The Twelve South Journal comes built-in kickstand that positions your iPad at a comfortable typing or drawing level.
This allows the iPad to be used for typing or drawing..
Turn it around and you can position for use to watch videos, Youtube or Netflix. Also this is the position you probably want to use when you are using a keyboard with the iPad Pro.
Finally the Twelve South Journal also comes with a back cover window that allows you to still take photos with the iPad then it is in the Journal.
The Twelve South Journal for iPad Pro is stunning, beautiful (and smell nice.. the leather smell is nice…).
