I was in Hong Kong for a quick few days (of good food and some little shopping !) and of course, I must visit a few TVB locations ! 🙂
In 2016, one of my favourite TVB shows is 一屋老友记 (House of Spirits). The “haunted” house is in Sheung Wan and throughout the serial, I can see I am pretty familiar with that area. This is because of a previous show 同里有親 which I have covered the locations in Part 1 and Part 2 blog posts.
In many of the scenes, the actors and actresses can be seen dropping off at this road and going up to their “haunted” house. That road is Shing Wong Street 城皇街.

In some scenes, you can also see that the haunted house is near Wing Lee Street (I am very very familiar with this street :p)
Hence, a quick Google Map search and you have it:
So off to this place ! 🙂
As I was eating at 胜香园 and walking to Man Mo Temple (文武廟), it is just a nice short detour to visit the TVB location !! 港劇迷朝聖地 !!
At the street..

Climbing up these steps will bring us to the building:

Hello !! I am here:
In many cut over scenes on the TV, this is the building shot:

Here’s a few shots from that angle as TVB show:
One thing you might notice is that the TVB show seemed to have four floors while in reality it is only three floors (ground floor and two floors above). You can see that from the TVB photo and the real photo. I believe the TVB photo was photoshopped (to create that floor which has the haunted unit). Not sure if I am right. Will be nice if some TVB producers can tell us. Ha.
The official address of this place is 中環城皇街19.
In the show, it is called 有宝楼:

Also, the stairs inside are quite narrow:

So glad that I made an effort to come here… it is so nice to see a TVB location again… 港劇迷朝聖地 !!
