I have never bought a Graphics card for many years (almost 10 years ?). I always quite happy with onboard graphics in the motherboard. Ironically, Intel is releasing its new range of chips known as Sandy Bridge which has even better onboard graphics.
Yet, this week, I bought a new graphics card. After much research, I settled for a HD5650 but in the end, on the recommendation of the excellent salesman, I bought the Sapphire Radeon HD5750 1GB GDDR5. Cheaper than what I want, yet more advanced. I like it !
The reason is because I want to try to run several monitors (3 to be exact) on my PC. I am already running two monitors on my Mac Mini. The key to running the 3 monitors set up is the use of Eyefinity Technology… you MUST use one of the DisplayPort for the 3 monitors though…
Unboxing pictures:
The huge fan.. I am not used to having a card of this size 🙂
The back ports : 1 DisplayPort, 1 HDMI, 2 DVIs. But you can only use 3 ports at maximum.
I love it !!
can it support 4 monitors simultaneously?
Nope… i dun think there is a single card in the market (in 2011) that can support 4 monitors in 1 card.. usually u need 2 to do so…
