In my recent projects, I needed to improve my video-taking skills as well as video editing skills. One tool that I have just purchased to help me is t the Rode VideoMic Me-L. The “L” in the end refers to the Lightning connector that can be used with the iPhone.
The Rode VideoMic Me-L is a high-quality microphone for the iPhone and iPad (with Lightning connector) is supposed to improve the audio quality when you shooting videos. The microphone’s directionality reduces surrounding noises to focus on exactly what you’re filming, ensuring your videos sound clear and intelligible.

The one thing that surprised me was how quickly delivery was. I ordered on 31st Jan 10 pm (from Lazada) and by 2nd Feb morning, it was waiting for me at a SingPost POPstation. Amazing. This is because I am so used to the long waiting time for Lazada products 🙂
It comes with a 1 year with free extension to 2 years when you registered online. I did that and received a “PDF certificate” showing my warranty period.
The hairy accessory 🙂 It is actually a Wind Shield (WS9) to improve the use at very windy places.
It also comes with a clip that you can attach to the microphone. At the end of the microphone is also a 3.5mm jack provides a headphone output for audio monitoring and playback.
There are just some brief info in the manual but guess this piece of equipment needs very little guidance. It either works or it does not 🙂

Unscientific Sound Test for Rode VideoMic Me-L
I did a very unscientific test at this very windy balcony area. Which has made my video taking very difficult for one of my projects. You can watch a lot of videos in YouTube on how good the mic is go so my own test is just a very simple one.
