I had some great seafood dinner at Lamma Island during my recent visit. I did not go to the famous Rainbow Restaurant but instead to another one called Tai Yuen Shark’s Fin Seafood Restaurant. The food is good and the price is reasonable !
Of course Lamma Island is more than just seafood. It has a nice beach, many stores and great hiking trails. Unfortunately, due to time, we could only go to Sok Kwu Wan for seafood dinner. You should also go to Yung Shue Wan and then walk over to Sok Kwu Wan for dinner.

How do you get to Lamma Island. Pretty easy ! You can grab a ferry at the Central Ferry Pier 4. It is not too expensive (I think about HKD 18) and you can use the Octopus Card too. Visit the ferry web site for more details.
At Pier 4, make sure you look out at the different signboards to go to the right part of Lamma Island.
When you reach Sok Kwu Wan, you can see the rows of Seafood places at the “waterfront”. Take your time to choose. I personally feel all their prices are very competitive and I don’t think you will ever get a “Newton Hawker Centre” experience of being cheated.
It is a pleasurable experience to eat at the places where you can sit really close to the “waterfront”.
