Hello ! I am just back from Hong Kong and during this trip, we went to many great places to eat. I really enjoyed my trip and will slowly introduce a few of these places and how to get there.
As for reviews of the actual food and how good it is, many other web sites such as mywoklife does it better than me. I am a more “get there” person so I rather share pictures and road directions….
The first place I want to share is Mui Kee Congee (妹記生滾粥品). You might ask what so special about a porridge. It is very good. One of the best I ever tasted in my life ! HA HA. It was featured in a TV program and we saw it in Singapore. So we decided to try it. I must say I am very impressed with the food. It is very nice and as a breakfast, it made a great start to a great day.
More pictures in a link at the end of this blog post.
So how do you get there. It is not easy to find the place. It took us almost 30 mins to do so as we had to ask around quite a fair bit. The reason is because I did not look at the google map properly. Anyhow, here’s a map again and with some walking diections:
You would need to align at Mong Kok MTR in Kowloon. Then go to exit D2 and walk to 花園街 and walk towards the end of the road. The MTR exit is important as it ensured you ended up on the right street instead of searching around like we did.
The store is actually in a building that has wet market at the first two floors and hawker centre at the 3rd floor and 4th floor. Very much like a particular building in Chinatown in Singapore…..
You then need to use the escalator to get to the 3rd floor (the Chinese sign said that it is 4th floor though. That’s the way it is in Hong Kong.. Dun know how to explain)…
Anyway, get up to the number 3 floor and then you can see the shop in the middle of the rows of stores ! Nice !!
Order different types of porridges to enjoy the great porridge !
Japanese ??
