I visited the Graham Street market (嘉咸街) in Hong Kong island one morning. This was for us to get to a particular shop in that street but then also this is an unique experience when you are in Hong Kong.
I guess for local Singaporeans, this is quite nothing as we do have such markets around (but not as traditional anymore…). But for others who spent their life buying stuff from air-conditioned supermarket or Singapore’s Sheng Siong markets, it might be a very interesting experience.
The Graham Street market is at the Sheung Wan area and is in between the Sheung Wan MT and Central MTR station. It is a pretty interesting place where you can find the traditional Chinese market stuff. Fish, meat, spices, vegetables, fruits and even rice. All along the road side and stores. Great photography experience. Actually I only know of this place from the excellent 蔡瀾品味 (The Taste of Cai Lan) programme. So in my next blog post, I will also share with you that one shop in that street that specialized in selling soy sauce and other seasonings. Great for cooking needs of your family 🙂
I also recommend you visit this web site for a really nice map of the place.
The GPS Coordinates of the place is 22.283372, 114.153919
