Visited the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad this recent trip. Amazing place with a very deep interesting history. It is now a Taj Hotel (what’s new) and they do conduct tours of the palace which is very enlightening and worth your time.
It is pretty incredible how rich the owner was at his time and how Hyderabad was a “country” on its own and how he tried to keep it independent…. of course that failed and now Hyderabad is part of India.
Nice side trip !
Photos !
Reservations are necessary to visit the Palace and eat at the hotel
This is just the front part gate of the Palace..
Got to take this buggy to reach the palace itself..
Reaching the palace (… like a king..)
And ta ta ta.. the front of the palace…
A panorama shot:
Falaknuma Palace sits on a hill and hence you can see the city of Hyderabad.. just like how the Nizam of Hyderabad would have see it during the hey days:
A panorama shot of Hyderabad:
Another shot of the palace:
During the tour, you cannot take photos (which is a waste as the inside of the palace is SUPERB amazing, especially its super big long dining table…). Here’s some shots taken secretly π
Actually this place reminds me of Hearst Castle in California, which I visited many years ago. Realised I never put up the photos of this magnificent place which I do so in the next blog post π
Magnificent night view of the Hyderabad city:
Like White House π
Saying goodbye with a night shot of Falaknuma Palace Hyderabad
