When u open the case near to your iPhone, immediately a “CONNECT” box appears:
And when you connect, it decided to choose the name for you..
And can be used for playing music almost immediately too:
If you don’t like the default name, you can change it in Settings for Bluetooth:
And also where you can adjust the tapping of the AirPods from the default “Siri” to just “Play/Pause”. I don’t use Siri, so it is the 2nd setting I want.
In a Mac, you do that under Bluetooth Settings too:
And if you want to check the firmware of the AirPods, you do that in the Settings>General which will have an AirPod tab appearing when you hold the case near to it.
