It is Friday and the postman brought a toy for me to play with this weekend. I ordered this from Amazon and it arrived by VPOST in a week.

Why did I buy this ? I wanted to try to extend the MacBook Pro (my MacBook Pro is about 3 years old) to a second monitor. Currently, my MacBook Pro is attached to my Dell 2412M Monitor and sitting on a Twelve South Book Arc. I wanted to see if I can connect the MacBook Pro to a second monitor. I also wanted to display the VM Fusion screen (running Windows 7 and all my trading software) on the MacBook Pro on that monitor.
The first aim can only be done by a USB display adaptor such as the one I ordered. At least according to this YouTube video:
The second aim of displaying the VM Fusion screen on a 2nd monitor will have to wait till I set up and see if it works. Something about VM Fusion and Lion worries me.

Unboxing…

USB adaptor end:
DVI end:
DisplayLink Certified
And the instructions make it sound so easy.. I doubt so 🙂
Drivers are only for Windows.. Need to google for Apple Drivers…
Will update on my efforts 🙂
