Previously I wrote about walking from East Coast Park to Bedok PCN. I stopped at the Bedok Canal next to Summer Gardens at Upper Changi Road. I came back another day to start a walk from Bedok Canal to Bedok Reservoir Park and a nice walk inside of Bedok Reservoir Park.
The blog post is here.
Parking to go to Bedok PCN
I skip a short part of Bedok PCN along the Bedok Canal and parked at Upper Changi Road.
If you arrive early enough, there should some nice parking lots next to the shop houses. You can then come back to this place for FOOD 🙂
Is this Chicken Rice good ? 🙂
This is along Upper Changi Road
Walking along Bedok PCN To Bedok Reservoir Park
After you parked, it is a short walk to the Bedok PCN along the Bedok Canal.
Right up to the end of this walk is a road where you can see the new Bedok Food Factory. At the time of writing, there are some small construction work but you can easily bypass that.
You can then continue your walk
And continue our way to Bedok Reservoir Park
When you reach the end, you can then reach a bridge. This bridge brings you ACROSS the PIE at Bedok area.
Lots of construction, which is sad as we lose more and more spaces…
Carry on your walk along the Bedok PCN
Take the right side of the bridge (you don’t have a choice anyway)…
Congratulations. You have reached Bedok Reservoir Park and Tampines PCN
For those who are keen, here’s the route from the parking place to Bedok Reservoir Park..
Bedok Reservoir Park
Bedok Reservoir Park has a surface area of 880,000 m², and a capacity of 12.8 million m³. The mean depth of the reservoir is 9 m, with a maximum depth of 18.2 m. The perimeter is 4.3 km.
The most important information (unless you want to jump into the reservoir) is that the perimeter is about 4.3km. Enough for a nice run (or a walk for older fat men like me).
We are going to take a walk AROUND THE WHOLE perimeter of the Bedok Reservoir.
What a view…
Lots of construction work at Bedok Reservoir Park now
Temasek Polytechnic is right next to the Bedok Reservoir Park
Wow… people can do water sports too..
Beautiful
And there is now a floating solar panel farm at the Bedok Reservoir. We cannot even leave a reservoir alone. Really is economic growth at all costs. Population Growth at all costs.
2% now. Just like 6.9 million population now. Then what ? 10% of the reservoir next ? 9.6 million population next ?
As you walk further, there is another addition to the park. There is now a floating deck…
Good place to take a break and have some mediation
Good morning, Bedok !
You can see the Siglap Park Connector too.. that’s where I would try to complete the loop soon.
Total Distance from Bedok PCN to Bedok Reservoir Park
The total distance of my walk today is 7.59km.
It is a walk from Upper Changi Road to Bedok Reservoir Park and then a whole loop along the reservoir.
I totally enjoyed the walk !!
You can then walk over to the Bedok Reservoir Park sign at the carpark and easily grab a cab back to your parking spot at Upper Changi Road.
