I have joined in the fun with the purchase of the base model of the Apple M1 MacBook Air. It has been 4 years since I got the MacBook Pro (a refurnished unit with Touch Bar). It has really served me well and I have pushed back on upgrading it (I was once, so close to ordering to the 16 inch MacBook Pro). But seriously, it has been a good work horse and has been pretty stable (actually very stable) and survived many a road trips and is a great companion.
But me being me…. could NOT resist the temptation so last week, on my visit to the amazing Apple Store at the Marina Bay Sands, I got myself the base model of the MacBook Air. This is a 8GB MacBook Air with 512 GB SSD. Okay.. the second item on the menu available for walk in customers. I did stopped myself from getting the 16GB MacBook Air with 1 TB SSD π

Hello BABY !
Wanted to say such a beauty but then it is the SAME casing as before π Just the inside has changed…. to a M1 Apple made chip…
Charger and USB C Charging Cable…
Only two Thunderbolt Ports…. only 2… from the 4 I had in my MacBook Pro
The keyboard. The better one……
And no Touch Bar anymore π
Setting up the Apple M1 MacBook Air
Easy as usual with all my stuff up in the “cloud” (i.e. Apple iCloud)….
Beautiful screen…
So far I have been using it for a couple of days, so far so good…
I hope I can keep this machine for another 4 years !!
