Hong Kong people love to 打边炉. I don’t know how true is that but TVB tells me one :) Cause I always see them in TV serials, they will always suggest go to 打边炉 after work at someone’s place. They will buy lots of raw food and gather at someone’s place around a nice steamboat and eat and chat..
Okie. So I also must 打边炉 in Hong Kong. HA HA.
Seriously speaking, I wanted to 打边炉 in Hong Kong long time ago and this trip, I finally did it. We went to 稻香超级渔港 at Sino Tower, Causeway Bay:
营业时间：早上7:00 – 凌晨 2:00
We ordered a steamboat with 2 sauces. One is the traditional clear soup while the other is satay (yes.. satay in Hong Kong ??!!)
There is a bewildering selection of food for you to choose and all kinds of meat/fish/vegetables/oysters/whatever-you-want. There are set menus, sets of this, sets of that…etc etc.
We over-ordered. Too much. Way too much that we cannot finished. So pls start small. Order a few dishes first and add more if you want. Also I believe there is a much cheaper price (i think is after 9 pm) so make sure you check with the counter BEFORE you walk in. Ask them what time is the special offer price. It can save you a lot if you go very late :)
When we left at 10pm or 11pm, people are still streaming in for supper ? Amazing. Hong Kong, the city never sleeps.
We love the food and the experience of 打边炉 even though we did not managed to finish it all :)
