I do know of many people who would stay at a hotel in JB as part of a weekend getaway. Most likely at a beach etc. But I like to share a hotel from the Marriott group. The hotel is Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel.
Located at Permas area and it is a very very easy drive from CIQ Complex (Johor Immigration) to the hotel as there is a new road from the CIQ directly to the Permas area. Use your GPS or look for the words “Permas” as you drive out of the CIQ. The road is new :) I heard it is also pretty easy to get to Legoland from the hotel but I am not sure. Do check with the hotel staff :)
The hotel itself is new and the rooms are of a very good quality. The service is fantastic and we were even served drinks when we were at the pool (something the staff took initiative to do). The area next to the hotel is full of good food (a few coffee shops and a night open air night market (pasar malam, Singaporeans.. a real one !) that is super long. There is also a night open air eating place that is full of good food (u like rojak ? there is good rojak.. ha). The hotel is also near to a Aeon supermarket which means Singaporeans can buy buy buy your household stuff :)
The car park is very safe and many Singapore cars are parked there (Parking is free for hotel guests). And oh yes, the breakfast buffet at the hotel is pretty reasonable in price and excellent in selection (dont miss the nasi lemak). All in all, I totally enjoyed the stay in the hotel.
The front of the hotel:
There is enough space (in my room) for another bed which cost RM100 and comes with a free buffet breakfast (for adult) so it is possible to house a whole family of three or four in the room…
Okie.. my favourite.. TOILET PHOTO.. this room has a sliding wall to reveal the shower room (if that’s the kind of thing you like to do with your loved one..ha). No bath tub in my room though. Not sure about others.
Swimming Pool. There is also a gym and a spa
Photos of Permas area. U can see the Aeon supermarket…
Only regret is not taking more photos of the food at Permas :)
