Not exactly something amazing or big or special but just something very simple to meet my aims.

We are all familiar with the Ikea Lack Table that looks like this:

It is cheap (now really cheap at only SGD12.90 in Singapore IKEA) but really normal (and common). And in fact, I actually found it to be a bit too high for use in some cases. The reason is because while it looks nice as a coffee table, I think its height is a bit too tall for my liking. Anyway, I also decided that the table needed to have a much shorter and much nicer looking pair of legs to go with the theme in the room

So got myself a Lack Table and….

then wander over to the kitchen cabinet section and grab a set of CAPITA legs. These are legs that are designed for the use with the IKEA kitchen cabinets

So instead of using the wooden legs, you simply use the CAPITA legs. It is pretty easy to screw the base plates (holding the legs) into the 4 corners. In fact, the CAPITA base plate come with 6 screws on each side (it being designed in the first place to hold up heavy kitchen cabinets):

And then you can screw in the legs easily too:

Do that for 4 corners…

And ta ta… the nice looking shorter coffee table from LACK… and if you are like clumsy me, you can even buy some felt pads to the bottom of the legs to prevent scratching the floor if you move the table…

  1. Absolutely brilliant! And your flooring is lovely! Capita legs seem to do so many good jobs – they are so good.
